The Daily Grind

Good Morning you all :) Well I guess it was about time I create this year's goals layout :) This was a layout made during Calvinball, but it was created for over at Paper Issues for their crop weekend last month for their selfie challenge. Speaking of Calvinball I had a fantastic time playing along I made #15 in the overall count board for the month and create 31 different crafty projects over the month.
I do goals each year and this time decided to do it with a scrapbook layout :) Maybe a yearly layout for my All About Me album will be taking place. I used my Camera Crazy kit, last month's counterfeit kit, for the layout. After hearing what the theme will be for May LOAD over at Scrap Happy I thought best to save the rest of the Simple Story collections: Daily Grind and 24/7 for that LOAD. But I did get a few layouts made from the collections, this being one of them.
I used the sketch over at The Memory Nest for my layout inspiration Make it Monday No. 56

I really like the layers of this sketch and was able to use a PL card for the 4X4 photo spot.
The selfie of me was taken Jan 1 of this year, I try to reflect on the past year and think of what I accomplish and then list what I want to accomplish in the year ahead. This is that list.
I got an Easy title for my layout from the Daily Grind sticker sheet and just loved this 6X12 paper that was in the collection for the Date spot and some fun phrases too.
As my favorite color is purple besides gold I knew I had to add just a bit to the layout and was able to accomplish that with the doily for the peeking layer that was on the sketch. This was one of the quickest layouts I've done in along time and I let the words on the papers be the embellishing of the layout.
Thank you for stopping by today and seeing the view from my little corner of the world

It's a March Counterfeit Kit :)

Hi you all :) I took a slight break from scrapping yesterday so I can gather up my March Counterfeit Kit and get my house cleaned up a bit (LOAD does that :). Need more details on what a counterfeit kit is you can check out the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog :) So many ideas there. I first went to see the actual kit, but it wasn't a normal scrapbook kit, but a Project Life style kit. Hmmm so now what ? I watched the video over at Ali's site for the inspired kit and the first thing Ali showed what the stamp set and I focused in on the camera, photos, the telling stories, and the memories of it.

The inspiration this month is the 'Click' Story Kit from Ali Edwards.
So from the initial start of the video and seeing that stamp set I got my list:
The camera, the wonkie heart, the banner, starburst, Photography, click, telling stories, memories, words & phrases. More in the kit, there were plastic word and veener items, chipboard, lots of tags, arrows, circles & 1/2 circles, ovals and triangles and they just about all them had words on them. Gray & Black phrase stickers, Blue Alphas, PL cards: Green/Black/Dk Orange/Lime Green? or Yellow?/ Dk Green. Transparent Pie.
So from that list I came up with my kit:

Camera Crazy

This is what started the kit off:
This camera paper is what my kit is based around. It's from the Teresa Collins Quoted page kit
Lets see what's in the drawer of goodies for this month:
The papers :) Most are cut aparts with just a handful of backgrounds. I grabbed almost all I had SS 24/Seven also SS Daily Grind, Creative Imaginations Travel Kit, Caboodle Kits Playful edition and some stragglers from my stash
The embellishments and things: Lots of washi tape, 2 thinlits kits, lots of stamps, the container has lots of die-cuts from a K&Company die pack, doilies, veneer, triangle studs, transparencies I got with the Daily Grind collection, 2 paper pads and so PL cards I got from BPC a long time ago,
Chipboard, flat stickers and lots of alpha/word sets.
The 2 Dazzles sets I chose that closely resemble the kit with tags and lots of words.

I will have all my mixed media product available to me as I am taking a May Flaum class this month and that is what the class is about. I'm hoping to use what I create in that class into my crafting this month too :)
option1
Looks like it's gonna be a fantastic class.

With sticking with my 2016 Word: To-Do
Last month I did a total of 47 scrapbook pages:  (25) single pg layouts and (11) double pg layouts. I also made 3 cards :) Not to bad for a LOAD month I almost doubled my goal of 29 layouts :) Lots of stories told for sure.
My goal for this month is at-least 31 layouts, and a goal to make 7 cards
This works with my word of the year and with that of setting my monthly goals and breaking them down to smaller goals. It's gonna be a fun month of crafting and it all happens with my Counterfeit Kits made from the inspiration I get at Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog.

Copy Cay Layout

Hi once again today :) This is a layout I did the last day of January for a challenge over a the Scrappin N Chattin yahoo group. It was also the sketch challenge there too :)
2 of my Granddaughters having a good time together, these are Albert's girls. Talk about some sister fun here :) I wonder if I did things like that too my sister :) I think the gap is just a bit closer for them than what it was for us, but it does remind of those days.
The sketched used:

The sketch was perfect for the pictures and the story :)
A close up of the pictures :) What a fun time they were having. I used my Counterfeit kit Brighter Year Ahead. So glad that bright floral paper was in the kit it just set off the girlyness of the page. The flowers came from a sticker sheet and the cat head stickers came in a RAK package. I used black cardstock to frame out the layout and extended the cream and black polka dot paper to extend out to the black cardstock. some pink camera washi tape to emphasis the selfies being taken and a couple of glittered yellow stars for the 2 stars in the photos :) A fun cluster up in the corner holds the date the pictures were taken. I like these kinds of sketches it helps me to learn this fun technique :)

This being my last layout for January, did I meet my goals? No, not really but I had fun trying :) With sticking with my 2016 Word: To-Do
My goal for this month is 15 layouts (I did 9 layouts)
that aren't all related to Christmas,
goal to make 13 cards, (I did 12 cards so I was close on this goal :)
goal to do my December Daily 2015 (but those papers were chosen in November to be used). (Not even close other than getting the prints done and having everything together, this is how I realize if my goals for the month are too big :)
This works with my word of the year and with that of setting my monthly goals and breaking them down to smaller goals. (I guess I need to break the goals down more yet to really small goals, lol :)
I may have not met my goals but that won't divert me from not to keep on trying and have some crafty fun along the way :)

My Word for 2016 is and my Goals for 2016

Good Morning you all :) I hope you had a fantastic holiday season, now that the New Year has begun we start to think about the goals that we want to achieve in the new year. Another thing to think about is, if you do this kind of thing, is One Little Word® 2016 that Ali Edwards began years ago. Not fimiliar with the concept this is what she has written on her post about it this year:
"The premise is simple - choose a word to invite into your life for the coming year. You live with it. You let it speak to you. You might even follow where it leads. There are so many possibilities and no right or wrong way to approach the adventure. Sometimes words have come to me out of the blue and other years I've gone looking for what it was I most wanted to bring into my life."
I don't actually participate with her class but I have enjoyed coming up with a word each year and focusing on it each year. So my word for 2016 is To-Do

To-Do to keep a daily and monthly To-Do goals so I can stay on top of what I want to get done that particular month and get them checked off :) I can break the goal down to manageable parts and have something To-Do each day to get to that monthly goal
So now to decide the monthly goals :) I know this month is cleaning and decluttering my craftroom :) Now to decide the daily and monthly To-Do goals for it. A project to work on over the weekend so I can get started Monday :) Right now my To-Do goals are to get this week's DT projects done over the weekend.

I'm not the planner girl type, but I did get a monthly calendar planner this year for this reason to keep on top of things. A place to put my monthly goals and break them down a bit and then I can add to it what I did each day towards that goal. I also will be keeping a To-Do journal this year where I can write it down as I think of it and then check it off as I do it :)
My goals for this year is something I have been considering for a while now. I have chosen a few like decluttering and cleaning my craftroom, a closer walk with God, Purging a few spots in the house that need attended too and then selling the items in a yardsale or giving away depending on what it is. I want to continue trying to finish up my Big Pictures classes that I bought before their changes were made and I want to get caught up on my current classes as well. I want to stay on top of current pictures and scrap as I go with the stories that come to mind then and to work on the accumulation of old photos too, I want to be getting my DT projects done early this year no last minute crafting for me I find joy in crafting and want to keep it that way. I have a few specific scrapbooking projects I want to do this year, so theme albums will be popular posts this coming year. Just a few things that I want to get done this year and still enjoy time with family and friends. Dave and I plan to do things together more this year especially on the weekends, we want to reconnect on the weekends as we work different shifts during the week and connection can get a bit lost from time to time :) We aren't the date night type of people but we do enjoy a date day thing once in awhile now it's just making a point to actually doing it, something that an easily be done and enjoyable too. Would like to do something out of the homestead atleast twice a month, we enjoyed seeing many places and festivals over December and want to continue that through the new year.
Just a few thoughts and intentions I want to make happen in 2016..................
Did you or do you participate in the word of the year or your goals for this year :) I would love to read about it :)
