Heart Shape Cards

Hello :) I had an order to do a couple cards from one of my coworkers. One for his fiancée and one for his daughter. He wanted them both personalized so I had fun once again with the sketch pens :) May have to start using these for some fun details on other projects :) I used a heart file for my cameo and in the software I duplicated the heart and welded together to make the card base. So both card bases came from my current counterfeit kit and worked out well for the cards:

His fiancée's was in the purplish and pink card and added some glittery pink hearts :)

 The inside of the card, with the chosen sentiment that I got to work with in the heart. This came about from me trying to draw freehand in my silhouette software and use the heart shape for a cutout to cut the printed paper by hand in the right spot. So glad it worked out as well as it did :)

For his daughter I went with the blue tones:

 I really like the way the blues of the cardstock, the pattern paper and the sketch pen worked together. I found these 3 glittery clear stars on a sticker set that I may be able to finish up real soon when I come across the pictures I want to use with it first :) Thinking I already have them printed.

The inside sentiment, I did the same technique as I did for the above heart. Yep an enjoyable project and my counterfeit kit had just the right paper for the cards. 

As we are getting down to the end of the month, I have been working really hard on my goals for January and getting so close on some and so faraway on others, that I'll be crafting quite a bit over the next few days :) This also gives me insight to what I can do and can't for my crafty goals in the near future. The craft room well that may need another month to finish it up, but I had made some excellent headway last weekend and working on it Saturday again may get it just that much closer to getting finished up :) Have an enjoyable rest of the day and thank you for stopping by and seeing the view from my little corner of the world :)

A Gamer Card for Funday Friday

For my project I made a personalized Gamer Card for a coworker's son's birthday :) This one took a bit to do but got it done in plenty of time:

 I used my silhouette software to create this shape card and added the personalization with a sketch pen in the cameo. I enlarged the cut file for a card size and added the bottom part of the card with tape.

 I also used my printer for the personalized birthday message and cut it out with my cameo. The card was made with all cardstock but the gray pieces were cut with a gray paper that was in my last month's counterfeit challenge kit :) I will also be entering this into the blog challenge: Silhouette Challenges for using my Silhouette cameo

First Family Photos

Good morning and welcome back to a new challenge over at Lasting Memories the challenge is Anything Goes with a Life's Moment theme. We were blessed last Monday with our newest Great Grandchild :) Her name is Emily Ann and well you'll see all the statistcs in an upcoming layout, but this layout features the photos that Amber took of the family:

How sweet are the moments of those first Family photos. Amber is Jessica's sister and both of them are our granddaughters. Thank goodness for facebook cause it is the only way we have to share in the excitement of this major Life Moment :) See Jessica and family live in South Dakota so it'll be till summer before we get to see Miss Emily Ann in person. So this is one of the pages that will be included in Emily's 1st year book I'm doing for a gift. The layout was pinterest inspired.

 This is Jessica our Granddaughter holding her daughter our Great Granddaughter Emily Ann. found out she has a head full of blonde hair :) The other 2 photos are of Jessica, her husband Kevan and Miss Emily Ann.

 When I went to start this layout I grabbed all the pinks that I had in this month's counterfeit kit, then pulled out all the baby girl stuff I have (now I'm ready to make this album with it all separated :) The pink cardstock, the heart border strips, the hot pink paper, the wooden veneer pieces scattered about the layout and the cut journaling scallop circles all came from the kit. The alphas came for the baby girl stuff I pulled for the layout. The family was a cut out I did with the silhouette one night using the red cardstock from last month's kit I put together.

The sweet moment 3X4 card is from a pack of me &my big ideas pack I had gotten 3 different packs of these cards in a swap box so when I cleaned out the box I put these in with my kit. The journaling sticker came from a sticker sheet in my current kit. I also added stickers from the one alpha pack I used on the layout. I journaled what she had wrote on facebook of the pictures

This is a picture that Amber took at the hospital of what they have on the wall in the pediatric section so I included that picture as well on the layout. More stickers from the alpha sheet and I made an embellishment with vellum and a piece of patter paper I found in one of my catchall boxes. The  circle with the script writing was one I had cut out earlier this month (yep lets get those scraps used up :) So Miss Emily Ann's book is started :) See you back here tomorrow with another project....

Moments

Hi you all and welcome to our second January challenge over at Lasting Memories, is all about captured moments. I have found, through going back and looking over my photos that some of the best moments captured is when your not aware the picture is being taken. Then, there are my favorite moments captured intentionally or not the moments usually involved the grandkids. Here are 3 of my favorite moments:

Dave holding Avery (Albert's oldest son now 11 years old) for the first time, gathering of the kids and grandkids for the 1st Easter Egg Hunt we had, Dave had to explain the rules :) it was a funny moment. One of my favorite moments with Zachary he started doing the clapping as with the chicken dance, brought a big oh smile to my face. I'm really enjoying this month at Lasting Memories with their fun theme and challenges. We hope you will play along with us :)
This layout was made using the sketch over at Sketch N Scrap twistback thursday ( a fun new challenge for their blog) here is the sketch:

 their TWIST: Out with the old and in with the new in 2015: use something old that is a year or more old on your layout as well as something that is new.  Make sure and tell us what you used that was old and what was new! Old: the lace, the circle brad, the pink doily, the metal button. New: the paper is Simple Stories Homespun which I purchased with my Christmas giftcard this year when I went to Michaels on Jan 2. 

 I cut up 2 3X4 cards to get the pennant action here in the corner. Picture of Dave and Avery 11 years ago.

Moments was cut out with my cameo it was a file I purchased for the store. (this past week was Silhouette week for cutting for this and some other upcoming projects) Most of the embellishments came from my current counterfeit kit and so glad to use up that other half of pink doily and got it out of my stash :)

The lace border was a fun addition and was not the original plan for the layout but the other border was way to wide, but I do love the lace and texture of it on the layout. The journaling block was a cut out piece for a tag that was in my journal tag pad. Cherished moments through the years from the time we met Avery to now. Scrapped 2015

Bubbles

Hi you all I did this layout over the past weekend but this is the first I had a chance to sit and do the actual post. I belong to a group on facebook called ScrappersChallenges and each month the challenges are a different theme this month it is ABC and each day she posts a letter to use for the title and some suggestions. I've got a bit of catching up to do but I did want to do this one for the letter B and the photos have been sitting for a while so I'm glad that she did this month, for the challenges cause I finally got it on a scrapbook page. This is from the 1st Easter Egg hunt we did with the grandkids, at the end of the hunt and all the games were played, we gave each of the kids a bottle of bubbles and this is what took place:

When I created the layout I was working with 2 challenges to create it: the sketch came from The Memory Nest: I used the Make it Monday 26


and I also used the challenge at Scrap Our Stash Challenge Challenge #19 Bingo. I used the 4th row down/across: Polka Dot Paper, Polaroid, Wood Veeners, Sequins, Stickers. Everything came from my current conterfeit kit:
I used blue polka dot paper from the Simple Stories Harvest Lane collection for one of the back ground papers, Polaroid cameo cut with and arrow cut out of it, wood veneer arrow, scattered sequins and 2 stickers from one of the paper kits: special moments and the green heart.

 I added one extra picture in the spot of the journaling in the sketch and shifted the title over to the side of the layout.

 The Polaroid cut framing a special picture of Aunt Andrea teaching Zachary how to blow bubbles. Scattered sequins around the frame like confetti :) (2nd challenge over at Counterfeit Kit challenge blog this month)

 The 2 stickers and a fun cut from the Silhouette store that included the bubbles and the bubble wand that I added glossy accents to for dimension. The picture of Zachary chasing the bubbles and thought that the die cut bubbles was perfect for that,plus it draws your eye to the stickers.

A special picture of Zachary trying to blow the bubbles and the cute wand with another silhouette cut for the title. All the die cuts were cut with my cameo. Journaling with a file folder type edge cutout. I really enjoy the way this layout turned out so glad that this was one of the sketches this month cause I really enjoyed using it.

Hi you all, hope you been doing well. Wow 2 weeks since I posted, I've been a bit busy. But this week will see more posts as I catching up with my scrapping. Today is Creative Cutting Challenge: Fall theme layout I did with Creative Pointe's Pumpkin Patch die cut:

Happy Birthday Zachary

Hi you all today is my Grandson's 4th Birthday and this is the card I made for him and rather quickly too it seems my mind was elsewhere this weekend and I didn't get to that project and a note from my husband yesterday morning sparked the memory.

I apologize for the lousy picture, I gave the card to my husband to sign and enveloped it up and realized I never took a picture so I popped it out of the envelope and took a quick snap and back in the envelope it went.
I used the blue pattern paper (opposite side than what was originally pictured) from my current counterfeit kit and the letters spelling out Zach was from the kit too. This is a silhouette store file: Design ID #17319 and if I had more time I would have played around with it a bit, but I thought it turned out okay :) I used some heavy kraft cardstock not sure where I got it or what company it's from, for behind the cut out of the train and the happy birthday. I use blue stickles and black stickles and added black flock to the stickles to give it a look of coal. 

We had a wonderful visit and he seemed to like the card, but the 20.00 in the card seemed to be better and I heard that will be used to got to Clyde Reptile Land, yep he is now into the reptiles and dinos :)

Hello Layout

Hi you all this is from LOAD514-Day 10. The theme was Pastimes and the prompt was: Operator. Some of the things Lain mentioned to scrap about: experiences with our phone, relationship to the phone, when did you get your first cell phone, just to name a few.  Mine I guess could fall under experiences/relationship with our house phone growing up:

I used 2 challenges for my layout: The 1st one was seeing Surama's challenge on her blog about doing a challenge w/ 2's (2 of everything) for Sketch N Scrap's 2nd birthday. So here is the list:
2 pattern papers, 2 cardstocks, 2 PL cards, 2 adhesive borders, 2 photos, 2 washi tapes, 2 ribbons, 2 wood veneers, 2 rub-ons, 2 die-cuts, 2 stickers. What a fun challenge this was :)
The other challenge is a sketch which I used to make up the layout from StuckOnUSketches:

 I had fun with this sketch, I'm not much of a corner cluster and this sketch brought me out of that comfort zone and as I do more n more sketches I do more n more of newer techniques a win-win.

 So this cluster has the rub on from Fancy Pants Designs, washi tape and a veneer

 This cluster has another rub on, a ribbon that i found in my ribbon drawer (similar to what I was wearing in the photo), washi tape and a PL card for my journaling about my relationship with our house phone.

 The center housed everything else, the pattern paper, the ribbon, the cardstock, the borders, the die cuts, the photos (me with our very first cat in the house, a tabby for some reason I can't remember it's name) and the word stickers (See another part of Surana's challenge was to celebrate: Celebrating a fun memory from my youth) When I was working on this layout there was one photo that I wanted to use and knew that I had it, but couldn't find it in time for the layout so I improvised and doubled up on the picture. But this was the photo of our house phone:

Mabel our cat next to our phone, I can assume that she must have been playing with the cord for the picture to have been taken. As you can see that cord didn't go far so the landing on the steps was prime spot to sit and chat, now this was the layout that if the walls could talk :) It would have been fun to have the picture on the layout, but I do like the way the layout turned out with the double photo instead. Everything is from past and current counterfeit kits, I pulled in the ribbon, the word stickers and the Hello die cut. The phone die cut is a cameo cut from the Silhouette Store.

MOM card-CCC #33

Hi you all and good day to you, running a bit late today but I got er done :) Today is Creative Cutting Challenge: Mother's Day Cards. Here is what I made

A bouquet of flowers on a card is what I feel this represents. I used Creative Cutting's Flower Set one:

I started out with the background of the card base attached sheer ribbon and the letters MOM down the center of the tape: I used the small scallop nesting squares from the Silhouette store and the letters through the software one of the ones I have as text. I used my current counterfeit kit for all the papers and the ribbon. the papers are from Echo Park: Sweet Day and the Letters are from the yellow cardstock.

The flower cluster came from the Flower Set One and I picked out the swirl flower which I can say cut out very nicely this morning. I did it 33% size (silhouette's software) and added a few flower pieces of a bag of stuff from my kit. Added the butterfly brad to the O in MOM too.

the inside of the card I brought in that pick stripe and a flower at 50%. Now all it needs is a note to MOM. the cardbase is an A2 size cut out of that same yellow cardstock.

A Birthday Card for a Princess

Happy Birthday Isabelle, today is my G-daughter's birthday and she just loves princess stuff. So when I seen this card in the Silhouette store I had to get it:

Isabelle's favorite colors are pink and purple so I made sure to use a variety of it on the card. The teal cardstock and the pink pattern cardstock (B side) came from my March counterfeit kit the flower paper came from Mind's Eye-lime twist 6 X 6 pad that I have next to my craft desk that I can grab a piece of the scraps when I need it. The purple and lavender cardstock came from my purple drawer of loose papers.
Mary from CardzTV has an excellent tutorial on how to put this type of card together (that is what I used to put it together :)

 I used Star Dust stickles on the cuts to give some glitter to it. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from my stash and so is the foam pieces scattered about came from Walmart.

Wonderful Beautiful Day-Spring CADB

Hi you all and welcome to my blog, today I'm the designer over at Card A Day Blog and the theme this week is spring! And was excited to see some pop of spring this week, I'll show you that at the end of the post :)

I saw a sketch this week that I knew I would be using to make my card today, I used Jen's Deconstructed Sketch, DS142, for the layout of the card. I also used my March counterfeit kit for the card. Most of it came from the CTMH Buzz and Bumble workshop on the go paper pack, but the retro flower, also was cut from 2 pieces of SU the birch and the brown wood-grain papers.

The stamp was included in the workshop and so was the rhinestones.  I used CTMH cocoa ink for the sentiment stamp.

 The flower is a cameo cut file: Design ID #7502 called 3 nesting retro flowers by Samantha Walker

Loved the layering of this sketch and I will be sending this to a friend that has been going through alot lately, hoping to cheer her up just a bit.

 Tuesday was crocus day the first we seen them in their glory

 Wednesday was the first I got out for a walk with Buddy through the park as we call it (the old abandon railroad bank that is next to our property), the walk is what we do nightly starting in the spring when it's warm enough to get out (at least for me) and continue all through till late fall early winter.
