CKC - September 2025 Kit Reveal - Bits and Pieces

Hello and welcome to my blog, it's the 1st of September (the brrr months) and that means it's time for a new inspirational kit for us to counterfeit and make our own for the month. Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit to challenge us to look through our own stash and choose a kit to play with. 1st you should have arrived here from Tara's blog. I'm looking forward to checking out her kit. But first I would like to welcome our guest Master Forger this month, Stephanie Olsen I had the pleasure of meeting Stephanie in person. So onto the kit!

Master Forger Vikki is hosting the blog this month and she says: Our goal here at CKCB is to curate a kit using our stash, without having to buy more product.  Let's dive right in and take a look at this month's inspiration kit!

This month I chose Life Captured by Simple Stories.  I absolutely love the colors in this kit. I also love how versatile it is by including the months of the year, so you can use it for any season that you happen to be documenting.

Here is a photo of the inspiration kit:

To see more of the kit head over to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog. I have a collection similar to this from Simple Stories and I used mine to start my kit and pulled collections that are similiar and almost done. Here is my kit for September:

Bits and Pieces

The kit consists of bits of collections with just a few papers and scraps left except for the similiar collection of the months that I haven't touched yet. I'm looking forward to getting things used up and out of my stash and into my books.

The papers I pulled have alot of the same colors as the inspiration kit and lots of the same prints, perfect for the monthly paper collection to mix with.
I came across this when I was looking for foam stickers and thought the yellows worked well and gives me some extra diecuts to play with.
In one of the pictures of all the extras there was alotof washi tape so I brought in a few to use too.
1st closeup of the bits I brought into the kit the pack of enamel dots is a full pack.
Sticker sheets that are almost done.
More embellishments that are just bits when I seen the plants, office stuff and books in the inspiration I knew that I had a Pink Fresh collection that was perfect for that.
This collection was another one that matched up well in colors and was almost done perfect to add to the kit.

That's it, that's my kit for September and I'm looking forward to playing with it. Now off you go and check out what Vikki has put together you can catch her over on her Instagram. The list is below if you want to check out what the other master forgers are doing.

Keep Life Simple LO for a Counterfeit Kit Challenge

Well it's the end of August and the last challenge that we have over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog the Baby Use Those Scraps! Still have lots of full papers to play with yet but I do have a bunch of scraps to play with too.

Cutfiles are a cool way to use up some scraps. Playing along with 31 days of cutfiles I did back this cutfile with the red and blue paper I used this month along with the scraps from 49&Market's Krafty Garden collection.

Thank you for stopping by today and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world. I hope you join us over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog for this fun challenge.

This Day LO for a Counterfeit Kit Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog! Love doing the sketch challenge over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge and this month did not disappoint! Laurie our host choose this lovely free sketch from Scrapbook.com

Definetly a fun sketch. The hearts scattered about had me thinking of this photo I took on a recent walk and thought to combine it with a heart stencil from Scrapping Reflections too. My layout:
Used a bunch of embellishments from my kit and a piece of cardstock too for mounting the hearts circle that I created with the stencil. Even got in the sunny cutfile that I clipped off a recent cutfile to make for the goal this month of cutfiles on my layouts :) Coming across that heart leaf in pure red all by itself the rest are all green just made my day. Love when God shows you signs with in nature.

Thank you for stopping by today and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world. I hope you join us over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog for this fun challenge.

Storm Watch LO for Sketch N Scrap challenge

Good morning and welcome to my blog. We are now in tourist season here in my little town with the Little League series going on. My cue to stay home and scrap :) Today is another throw back sketch over at Sketch and Scrap blog. I chose to do sketch #62 from August 2014 for my layout inspiration. I rotated the sketch to work with my photos.

I had fun playing with my scraps from my counterfeit kit Life is Good for this layout and using a cutfile for my title was a nice touch.
Been watching this storm all day and now it wants to come in and ruin the boat ride. Yep as soon as we got on the boat then it rained.

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I created and can't wait to see what you create from this cool sketch over at Sketch N Scrap blog.

CKC - August 2025 Kit Reveal -

Hello and welcome to my blog, it's the 1st of August and that means it's time for a new inspirational kit for us to counterfeit and make our own for the month. Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit to challenge us to look through our own stash and choose a kit to play with. 1st you should have arrived here from Tara's blog. I'm looking forward to checking out her kit. But first I would like to welcome our guest Master Forger this month, Nadine Michelle from Paper Route Scrapbooking. So onto the kit!

Laurie is our host this month and has chosen Farmhouse Summer by Carta Bella, which captures the heart of country living with a homey palette and timeless design motifs. It's the perfect blend of rustic charm and fresh summer energy.

Here are a few more photos of this collection.

Love the country vibe going on and when I saw the windmill I knew my kit would start with my last collection I got from CTMH before they closed up shop, The Good Life and makes the perfect name for the kit too. Here is my kit for August:

The Good Life

I will be scrapping my pictures from my Windcreek Market bus trip that also had a boat ride at Seneca lake. That windmill captured my kit well with cutfiles, paper and stamps to do some forgeries too. Lots of 49&Market Krafty Garden in this kit has that country vibe too. Put in a neutral cardstock paper pad to try to finish that up too.

My papers came from a few places in my stash. The CTMH paper, 49&Market Krafty Garden, The Stamperia Vintage Library paper pad has the blues and reds from the kit. Grabbed a few from my plaids paper pad, a mixed media background I made had some similiar colors and papers from a Farmhouse paper pad.
August is all about 31 days of cutfiles too and if that package of cutfile wasn't enough I added an old monthly kit of cutfiles to the kit because it had the same feel as the kit.
Close up of the Krafty Garden elements that I brought in the kit for embellishing.
Washi tape and the stamp and die set that came with the CTMH paper collection that I will be making forgeries with, time to get some ink on those stamps.
I brought in this one kit from Not Just for Boys the page kit has that blue plaid perfect for this kit and the diecuts are perfect for some of the street art I seen in Watkins Glen for the boat ride.
This chipboard pack is a perfect match to this kit, a recent purchase at the crop I was at in July caught my eye for some crop photos from March that I need to scrap.

That's it, that's my kit for August and I'm looking forward to playing with it. Now off you go and check out what Vikki has put together you can catch her over on her Instagram. The list is below if you want to check out what the other master forgers are doing.

CKC - June 2025 Kit Reveal - A Blast from the Past

Hello and welcome to my blog, it's the 1st of July and that means it's time for a new inspirational kit for us to counterfeit and make our own for the month. Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit to challenge us to look through our own stash and choose a kit to play with. 1st you should have arrived here from Ryann's instagram. I'm looking forward to checking out her kit. But first I would like to welcome our guest Master Forger this month, Kate Blue, a former master forger, I know she's gonna have an awesome kit, we can all check it out over at her InstagramSo onto the kit!

Julene is our host this month she thought we could try something different.

FLASHBACK MONTH

Instead of choosing a current kit to scrapbook I've gone back into the archives and chosen July 2014's kit to look at again. The kit was from Noel Mignon and named Balboa.

As you can see it is bright with a tropical Carribean flavour. Perfect for those summer photos.

IDEAS

How we approached it back in July 2014 and how YOU forge it now could be different.

Maybe it's time to go through your old papers.

What a great idea! I checked back on my blog for what I put together that month, you can check it out here if you like. I definitely had a different vibe to that one more blues than the kit I put together this time. Here is my kit for July:

A Blast from the Past

The reds, the teals and yellow with the black chalkboard stuff that was so popular back then and is now coming back made for a cool color scheme to work with. I went to my color drawers as I know my older stash is there. Lots of chipboard, found some chalkboard style with the PL cards and the chipboard from Vicki Boutin's Printshop collection also grab some Fernwood collection embellishments for the butterflies. The papers:
Founds some cardstock in the drawers and lots of older paper too which will be fun to use with some current paper from a warehouse box I got a couple of month's ago and get that used too. Lot of geometrics back then: dots, stripes and then the florals. I added a 6x6 paper pad too plus the end of NJFB kit that had the colors that would bring in some newer paper too.
From Vicki Boutin's Fernwood collection the chipboard, the flat stickers and sticker book as I don't have much paper left thought this would work well with this collection.
Chipboard pieces and I found some speech bubbles too!
Wood veneer, ribbon, washi tape and a fabric flower also some glitter markers that I want to try out and use on the chipboard.
Enamel dots, sequins and gems.
Grabbed a cutfile that were triangles as one of the papers in the kit was triangles, also grabbed a red alpha like the kit.
I knew I had chalkboard PL cards, didn't realized I had a whole pack of them so brought those into the kit too! Would like to tackle quite a few of this cards throughout the month of July. So that is my kit. Should be fun to play with, I'll decide photos that I want to scrap with it during the 1st week of the month as I'm up early for the challenge this month with the 1st one on the 12th. See you then! Now off you go and check out what Brandi Jo put together you can catch her over on her Instagram. The list is below if you want to check out what the other master forgers are doing.

Kramer Bridge LO for a Counterfeit Kit Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog! Love doing the sketch challenge over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge and this month did not disappoint!  This month, Tara has us using the 30 Days of Sketches, Series 18, Day 22 sketch.  This sketch was created by Fatima Oliveira Avila.

Gotta love a 2 page sketch for those times you have a bunch of photos!

I was inspired by the design of the sketch and used that for my background. Added a few more photos to the layout. Used some fun nature embellishments and words from my kit. The paper was perfect for the for the wood floor of the bridge inside the bridge.

Thank you for stopping by today and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world. I hope you join us over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog for this fun challenge.
