Buddy This Again?

This is from LOAD516 Day29: Sunday theme: Daily Life and the prompt was It's the Little Things. Capture a small moment or detail. I went with our fur-baby Buddy for this layout :) he is part of our daily life and should be featured a bit :) But Buddy isn't a baby anymore, turning 11 this year :) he's older than us now, but still a bit feisty when he wants to be.
I used the challenge over at Sketches in Thyme sketch #200
This was a fun sketch :) I also used a new technique with this layout from a challenge over at Scrappin N Chattin: Window Pane (to cut up a picture in a way that it looks like your looking out the window at it. Interesting and glad I gave it go.
Buddy does enjoy life :) He loves to get on his back and just rub around it is something he does daily.
The lower corner I have added my journaling
The top corner I added the other half of the PL card I cut for the 2 corners and the sequins. A fun layout once again. I used my Sunny Breeze kit, my current counterfeit kit :) Tmorrow is a new reveal for June's kit and this month they did a sneak peek you can see it here

Dog Lover

Yes I would have to say we are :) We love our Furpooch Buddy :) He adorns my instagram and facebook accounts quite often. It would be a very quiet house with out him. So this LOAD came from inspiration I seen on the LOAD flicker group, a girl had done a layout about the way her dog talks and Yep they do have their own language so I knew I had these fun pictures of Buddy from November that you can see his language in his expressions and stance. So this is LOAD day 18: Language.
This is our Buddy waiting for a snack that we always get him when we attend the club's annual banquet. A friend does homemade dog biscuits and we make sure we get the package each year in the white elephant auction. It is the one gift that I will pay any amount for cause it's for Buddy and well worth the cost :) and were donating to the club a win win. This was the last year he'll be getting those as she is retiring from her business and selling it.
The sketch I used is from Let's Get Sketchy and it's the Week 2 Sketch

I seen one of the designers used layers of paper for the right hand side and that inspired me for my layout. As I like to use larger photos I changed it up a bit to fit my layout but the base of the sketch is there.
Yes our dog is spoiled and spoiled well :) I like that fun word block and added for one of my paper layers. The journaling is about Buddy's language. He very good at letting you know what he wants if you can understand his language :) Since this was a Christmas party I added the Santa washi tape it's a reminder for me what the event was taking place. cute vellum sticker that says it all :)
I did a lot of up-cycling on this layout (I'm thinking that is what it's called when you recycling things and adding it to your project) The Dog Love and Linda's card was on the front of the bag at the auction this lended very well for a title to my layout. Scraps of dog papers that were in my stash. The blue heart paper was a leftover scrap from last month's counterfeit kit and the journaling paper above is from one of the current kit's 6X6 paper pads. I added a variety of embellishments to this layout. The greenribbon with the bow and the red ribbon both came from the dog basket's gift bag closure. Also added a heart to cover the pie plates on the table in the picture (that is in my current kit) a sticker and some old metal tags to finish off the layout.
This was so much fun to do and LOAD prompted this layout, I don't know if I would have had the prompt if I would have done the layout, but I'm sure glad I did :)

Just Being Silly

Have you ever had one of those days that you just want to have fun :) This was a day for me, I was out on the porch enjoying what Dave and the dogs were doing when Buddy decided to join me on the porch for some cuddles. Well those cuddles turned into having a blast with the camera and some Silly Selfies with Buddy:
This layout was just pure fun from the pictures that was taken that day too the choice of challenge sketch I used. I got my inspiration from the Sketch #90 over at Sketch N Scrap:

I just loved this sketch to have it angled like that on the background really made such a playful sketch so the pictures was perfect for it.
This layout came from LOAD3: Pirate. There was a story about this man and his dog for that day and the illustrated picture had a dog in it so I went with a layout about the dog :) also: Story: Tell of a time you had to put on a certain persona. I think what we were doing just might fit this too
I used my current kit for my layout I brought the bold background pattern back into the layout with the circle part of the sketch. The One of a Kind sticker is perfect for this as I think dogs are as individualize as people are even the same breed you won't see 2 totally alike, some similiarites but they each have their own quirkiness :) Buddy is just one of a kind.
I fond this fun journal paper in one of the journal pads I had that tells the story behind the pictures. There biting the tire is Jake, it's getting easier to scrap pictures of Jake since his passing, Jake has his own quirkiness too, and these 2 are the same breed of dog. Thank you for stopping by today to see what I'm up to in my corner of the world............

The Year Was 2002

Hello enjoying the day? We are having snow once again! Ugh! so ready for this winter to be over. So I have this bright layout to kick the blues away. The layout came from Day 18 of LOAD it was a Wednesday which the theme is word play. We were to start a page with Once Upon A Time...I seen that prompt and though, sheesh! I already did that one so I compromised and start my journaling block with the sentence. So deciding on what to theme this layout on I came across some photos that should have been scrapped awhile back. Jake our oldest dog that passed away last year in October, this layout centers around the 1st year we got Jake.
This was such a joy to do, all the pictures came from the 1st year we had Jake, he was an older pup but still won our hearts. I used sketch #34 over at the Memory Nest for my layout. I used the sketch the original way and on the opposing page I flipped it:

I worked my layout around the sketch. You can see the sketch with in the layout, but I added more pictures than what the original sketch called for
The left hand side of the layout has some of the first pictures of Jake he was a playful pup and Dave did enjoy time with him. I used a variety of papers mainly from my dog theme drawer, but the main background paper came from I'm thinking the DCWV Linen Closet pad or the Guilded Paper pad. The alphas came from one dog related sticker sheet and the rest from my kit. The dog dish diecut was in my drawer just waiting for the right layout. The die cut is from Creative Pointe's Dog Elements file
The right side I carried over the same papers added more stickers to this side and a definition of faithful on clear that got lost on the layout but was stuck to good to lift off  so it stayed right where it was attached.
Some closer shots of the layout
The journaling block
He was a great dog for taking care of groundhogs in the yard. My hubby with out facial hair wow is that a blast from the past :)
Thanks for stopping by today, I've got a few more layouts to post from LOAD this upcoming week and I got my current counterfeit kit put together today so I will be showcasing that tomorrow. My scraproom looks like a paper cyclone storm came through from all the crafting this past month so will be putting that away also and need to do my final LOAD layout that shows the stack of layouts I did for LOAD215 seems to be what all the girls do and looking forward to my final count for the month of February... You all have a fantastic day today :)

Lost a Friend Today

Good Morning,
So many things happening since yesterday, Big Picture Classes is moving their content over to Studio Calico and the forever access is gone. I know that business has to change to evolve, but say it... we don't care much for change. For the ones of us that have classes we will be doing alot of downloading to keep the content that we have purchased. I have done many layouts through these classes and will have to go back in the archive and assign the class to the layout so I know what I have done and to stay on track. With the holiday season ahead that doens't give much time to get it all done, but I'm one of the lucky ones cause I don't have many classes to download as I found BPC late in my scrapping years. Just another addition to the To Do List.

Saddly today we lost one of our fur babies, Jake our oldest he was 13 years old and in our lives 12 of those years, he was an older pup when we got him. It's hard today to talk of my feelings for him they are very raw at the moment, but need to capture the moment soon. I scrapbook page about Jake a few months ago:
The original post of this layout can be found here: Jake
Well I'm off, got some scrapping I want to get done today to keep my mind off somewhere else today so I'm not tearing up near as much as I would if I wasn't doing anything.
