Twix-Make Your own Twix

Hi you all and welcome back to another Throwback Thursday. Today is a 6 X 6 recipe card I made for the March 2013 swap:

I'm telling you they really do taste like Twix Bars. These make for a great snack in the summer or a nice gift at Christmas to give away. I got the recipe from the PeppermintPlum.blogspot.com. I used Que Sera Sera paper pack from K&Company for the base. Staples cream cardstock for the recipe print out. Used Martha Stewart Double Edge Punch: the Double Link Trim punch, a dazzle flower circle and a Rhinestone in the center of the flower.
It is a fantastic recipe give a try the rich ad crisp cracker base and top gives it the buttery taste. Thanks for stopping by today, hope your enjoying Throw Back Thursdays. Have a fabulous day.

It's Your Birthday

Hi All,

Yay! Friday! It's been one of those weeks, busy but feels as if I got nothing done.
The card I got today was one I made for a local swap group, the specific was embellished, so it had to be embellished some way

Now this is a real easy card to make and when you got to make 21 of them you want easy. I choose blue and yellow for my palette because they compliment each other. This is a 4.5" X 6.25" card the base is cardstock from The Paper Co. value pack, the background cut at 4" X 5.75" pretty sure it came a purchase from Michaels (need to keep better notes). I added 3 different embellishments to the card plus my sentiment. The yellow flower is a MS punch: embroidery, the yellow border from cardstock (Jewel pack from the Paper Co.) I think 1.5" wide punched with recollections border punch (they don't seem to mark a name on their packages) the ribbon is American crafts I got for a buck and the sentiment punch is SU Punch Builder Ticket Duo and the stamp is from a fiskars pack done in CTMH juniper ink.
 As you can tell I don't favor one company when I make my cards I like them all! You all have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by and seeing the view from my little corner of the world...

One Small Flower

Hi everyone I am the designer today over at Card A Day Blog. Sympathy cards can be the most trying card to do when the event is taking place, so my thoughts are that it would better to have some done and available for such an event.

 

This card was made for a swap that I was in and the sketch challenge on the Northeaster Scrapbook Friends yahoo group I belonged to.








I cut the blocks of sunflowers out and the mat for it was cut with Spellbinders: Classic Scallop Squares small die 3" X 3". The background pattern paper was cut at 4" X 5.25". The borders (3) layers: the front layer at 2" and the back 2 layers at 1"
 The recipe for the card:
Border paper is from Stampin Up, background mat and the mat paper behind the flower is from My Minds Eye Bella Bella pack. Sunflowers came from Best of Brenda Walton Stack.
Stamp: I got from Micheals
Cardbase: White cardstock from The Paper Company
Ink: SU Basic Black
Punch for the layers: Martha Stewart Doily Lace.

This was easily made with the sketch and it would be appropriate for a male or female recipient. I'm glad that I was able to share it with you all.

Christmas Shopping

Hi all and if you are stopping by from Card A Day Blog welcome. The theme this week at Card A Day Blog is Christmas Shopping!
Now who doesn't enjoy a little shopping around the Christmas holidays. My card today depicts that:

Are you going shopping this week too! I never cared for the hustle and bustle of shopping in Black Friday, but last year there were to many sales not to go out and get a few things (it's the best time of the year to buy all those crafting items that you need for the days ahead).

The card I made today was a fun one, I did the searching for my shopper the past few days and found her at Sliekje's digi Stamps. Isn't she just the cutest thing. I feel like her after a good day shopping at the mall. This is an A2 size card on white card stock from the paper company, all the background papers came from the DCWV "The Christmas Combo 180 Stack", the borders were punched with MS doily lace edge punch, the sentiment was typed up in MS Word and printed out and punched with SU extra-large scallop oval and then trimmed to have a straight edge, added 3 red rhinestones from KaiserCraft. The girl was colored with a variety of markers (really trying to get the hang of this, would like to progress into doing the beautiful work I've seen out there on other blogs). This was a fun project and I know who will be getting this card for her love to shop! Have fun shopping this Black Friday, I'm still deciding what I'm shopping for an Imagine or maybe that new cricut 2 that is out, or maybe I'll get a few new little things and gifts for the family. No April's Fool Day Joke Here

Hi All,

Woke up to NO snow as they were predicting some today-fantastic we dodged the big storm that was to be the big story in our area. As a new month begins I would like to put up the last card I did for the month of March. This card was the 2nd card for a swap that I was signed up for.

I got the inspiration for this card out of the March issue of the CardMaker magazine Glimmer Mist tie-dye card. I had gotten some glimmer mist from Stampin Up and came across this article and decided to finally try it. I sprayed it on the flowers to add the color gold to it, the fuzzy brad came from SU, too. The flowers came from a scrapbooking package I got for Christmas the first year I got into scrappin from the ladies that got me started in scrappin, I'm really trying to purge out the old. The sentiment came from the Lucy Labels Cartridge and the border was a Martha Steward punch: doily lace trim a double edge punch , love the look of this punch. Also included the punch border on the inside of the card, too. Added gold rhinestones to give it some bling. I did learn that I need to cut out just one label first to see how it will work with the other colors, I think I should have went a little darker with the Thnking of You, but it's a learning process for me. So now that March is done bring on the sun, I'm ready. I've got at least 4 cards planned for this month, 1 is being done specifically for a challenge and my recipe swap. I would like to get a few layouts done this month, too. Chat later.
