Christmas Countdown

A Christmas layout in May :) and yes I used my counterfeit kit for part of this layout :) That one paper pad that was in my last month kit: Shabby Gone Wild, had the gray that I used for the circle and both the green and red layers came from it :) Just had to cut it to make it work :) It was from that 8X8 paper pad I had in my kit. The rest came from my December Daily kit that I created in November for one of the Challenges on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog. So this layout came about from LOAD516 Day 11, it was a Wednesday so that is Life By the Numbers and the prompt was Life can get expensive! Add it up!, plus use a circle on the layout for a chance at the prize that day.
I used the sketch over at ScrapMuch? May 6 Sketch with Team B

This was a fun sketch for this for this layout :) The gold sequins were in place of the hearts in the sketch.
The Christmas Countdown starts for us with Black Friday :) A day of shopping to get a jump start on that Christmas buying shopping list. I'm using this for also the Whimsical Musings Challenge #194 – Inspired by countdowns
My journaling spot. Cool to get a 2015 Christmas layout done :) you just never know what LOAD is gonna to inspire you to do :)

A Perfect Day

This layout was made for LOAD516 Day 5 Theme: What you love, what you really, really love and the prompt was What is your favorite place. This prompt seems to creep up often in the LOAD prompts one way or another. So I sat and thought about this prompt a bit while having my coffee that morning and thought about it throughout the day too. But I finally came up with what about my craftroom? it's one of my favorite places to be! So that was my layout. I went to search for some pictures and I knew the sketch I was going to use was from the Island Crop over at Scrapbook Generations FB group event.
I grabbed some pattern paper from my Crafty Pad for DCWV and used that with 6 PL cards I had in a past counterfeit kit. That's what was so cool about this sketch (April 2014 addition over at Scrapbook Generations) that it had the spots for the PL cards and it made a nice mat for the photos. I did some fussy cutting for the journaling strips and a cute strip I had gotten one time in a fortune cookie that was perfect for this layout. The flowers, pennants, sequin stars, glitter gold hearts, bakers twine and SU candy dots were the embellishments from last month's Shabby Gone Wild counterfeit kit I made up.
 My journaling block
 This fun top cluster
Up close shot of the photos, with a couple more flower clusters. An overall picture of my room, a selfie of me in my room (this was taken during a 10 day challenge of selfies), my craftdesk and a meme. The perfect day is usually spent in that room while creating.

You Make Me Laugh

Hello once again :) LOAD516 Day 3: Theme is I Feel: Prompt is: What makes (or made) you Laugh? Wow this opened up alot of different ways to approach this topic! My list consisted of: Old Comedies and comedians that made me laugh when I was growing up. Loved the Carol Burnett Show, Hee Haw, and other shows like that for a good belly laugh! Not much has changed I still laugh at a good TV Show like the Big Bang Theory. But also a good joke, something comical at the fair:
Or just seeing you having fun with the grand kids. Pure Joy! You, Dave make me laugh with some of the things that you do! I had a blast creating this layout :) I've been making it a point this month to use up some of my old cardstock that are on the paper pads that I have had since I think I started scrapbooking. Time to get them in the scrapbooks! I also want to try to use up some of those border prints that you get in the large paper pads. These are always a challenge for me to use and recently asked a question about it in the Get It Scrapped forum and got some good tips to get some used up.
I used the sketch over at Scrapbook Challenges for my layout, sketch # 481:
 SBC_Sketch481
I had fun using this sketch, I stuck with the 3 photos but had lots to add to the layout so I made more of a grid style for the photo section but used the red paper to keep it all together.
Dave likes to have fun when we go to the fair too :) He surprises me at times when he wants his picture taken and where he is when he wants it taken. I found some fun stickers to add to the layout and this fun vellum quote to put in the center. I used of my counterfeit kit from last month and some of this month's kit too for the layout.
I love that they had pennants going at different angles this helped me to include some theme paper that worked well for the layout.
My journaling. It's a joy to be married to someone that you can laugh with. Thanks for stopping by once again today.

I Can't Believe I Wore That! for a PL Card challenge

Good Morning and today there are 2 posts to share with you :) First is for Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style, with a change up over at the blog my challenge day got bumped to the middle of the month :) Some great challenges sketches each week of the month so I'm good with any week for a design team project. I get to kick off the new week's sketch and this is my card for my layout from this week's sketch:
For some odd reason when I scanned the card it came up with these odd colors: the triangles in the washi tape is more of a golden yellow and the background paper is a brighter green. This title card is based on this sketch:
Fun way to create my title card for my layout.
My layout is based on yesterday's LOAD prompt (yep getting down to the wire to create this layout on time for my DT duty, it's been one of those type's of months so far) LOAD day 14: Time capsule is the theme for Saturday and the prompt is the same as my title :) through some of the suggestions there was one about has your fashion style changed? another about everyone has atleast one horror story (I come across a few while looking for pictures to use) But this one struck me when I saw the pants and what we call flooders back in the day. (I have seen this in style now!) But I saw the pants in the right picture first and then saw I wore the same pants in the left picture which I was a year younger in, so that created my story for the day!
I used the current sketch over at ScrapMuch? for my layout and just loved using the stripes of paper for the background:
This is definitely a keeper sketch for when I have lots of scraps to use up.
My journaling talks of the pictures and wondering just what I was thinking to wear pants that didn't fit me.
It definitely shows how much I grew in a year, but really this had to be uncomfortable I would think!
And what about that hat :) I was glad to make a story around this picture because looking at it alone I don't think I would have scrapped it, but this prompt created the perfect time to scrap it :) See how the yellow and the green of the title card really looks from the picture I took. One thing though, I still like to wear blue and gold. I used some of the SU candy dots from the Shabby Gone Wild kit and other bits and pieces from other older counterfeit kits too.
Looking forward to seeing you creation over at Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style and this is the prize offered this month for May challenges: To celebrate NSD, one lucky participant will win this entire Happy Times kit!!!!! Wow!!!!

Hello Friend for a Funday Friday challenge

Good Morning you all :) Today I have a card I made for this week's challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack for Funday Friday. The challenge this week is Sketch Time and our sponsors are Little Blue Buttons Stamps and Di's Digi Stamps.
I used Little Blue Buttons: Bells digi stamp for my card:
Such a lovely stamp and could be used for a variety of sentiments too. I used a bit from February's Counterfeit Kit and last month's kit Shabby Gone Wild for my card and some stragglers that were on my crafty desk :) It's great to use up the bits and pieces that sit there for awhile. Got to finish off the package of wood veneer I had and that sentiment card has been in a few counterfeit kits and finally found a home perfect for it on this card.
Here is the sketch for this week's challenge:

Artsy for the CKC April Blog Hop

Hi :) If you are looking for the Lasting Memories Layout Challenge post you will find it here

Good Morning you all :) As I just checked on this post I come to find out I never took it out of draft mode (me bad :) So Good Afternoon :) If you came from the creative Jemma's blog then your on the right track :) but if not you may want to start at The Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog and get on board with the first stop on this month's blog hop. This is always a fun blog hop showing off the ladies creations from their current counterfeit kit. This month, you can choose to share any project you have made with your Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit which you have not shared on your blog yet. You project could be related to any of the three challenges or maybe just something you made with your kit. As a reminder, here are the three challenges this month:
Challenge #1: Shabby Chic Techniques
Challenge #2: C'est Magnifique, N'est Pas?
Challenge #3: Ephemera Encapsulated
I went with challenge #3, I added all the fun stuff I got at the local crop I attended this past February. I used this sketch over at The Memory Nest to help me create my layout:
I used the paper that was sitting on the table I had to use for part of the story and I fussy cute the lady scrapbook clip art from the bottom of the page to add to the layout. The tickets I won for the each page I created I used at the top of the paper for a fun addition.
My personal journaling and that cute clip art I fussy cut out.
 The title work
And the picture of my table. I get into it when I'm at a crop. Grab the tote f necessities, grab my current Counterfeit Kit and my Page Maps book for some sketches and away I go!
Thanks for stopping by today, I'm your last stop on this hop. Everything on this layout, other than the items I got from the crop is old stash :) So with that said I am using Whimsical Musings prompt #33 Inspired by Old Stash, which is very fitting for a Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop. The Title piece I bought years ago at JoAnns when it was on clearance. Bought it when I really loved glitter! I still do, but not like back then :) This piece is the old glitter that flakes off when you use it and to combat that I used tomboy wet adhesive like you would use glossy accents and coated it. I have one more title piece like this to use up yet and will probably being doing the same with that. which is very fitting for a Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop.

The Heart That Loves is Always Young

Hi you all and good day to you :) Today I have a double page layout that I made for Stick It Down design team. I've held on to these pictures for quite awhile, I would pull them out and they just wouldn't work with the sketch I was looking at. Finally a sketch that is the best match for all these pictures:
These photos are from May 23, 2015, we were invited over the Brad and Katherine's for a meal and some good old family fun :) Dave and Brad enjoyed a game of cornhole while I enjoyed spending time with the grandboys, playing ball with Zachary or pushing Tristan on the swing. We had a fantastic time and all the while in the background is Katherine taking these great pictures with my camera. I was pleasantly surprised when I got home an seen all the fun memories on my camera.
Here is the Double Page sketch that we were to use this month. Lots of space on there for pictures.
 My journaling
 A fun Project Life card
 Close up of the cluster
 Another cluster and picture Zachary
Close up of Tristan and Brad in the sunglasses. Another cluster
The largest cluster and closeup of the swing pictures. It was a fantastic day :) I used my current counterfeit kit Shabby Gone Wild. Thank you for stopping by and seeing what I'm doing in my little corner of the world. I look forward to seeing your double page creation over at Stick It Down challenge blog.

Always Radiate Sun Shine for Funday Friday

Hi you all :) We've been having the most beautiful weather here in Pennsylvania :) and the weekend is to be the same. So happy to create the card I did for this week's Funday Friday it's perfect for this weather. This week's challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack is a
"Color Challenge
Use TAN, BLACK & RED"
Create a card, layout or project with
this week's theme!
Well I did use the colors after I realized what thee challenge was, but I also used some yellow for the sunshine:
I used a My Bestie stamp (one of our Sponsors this week is Sherri Baldy Art) Pool Time Polly for my card. Found a fun felt smiley face flower in my stash too that was the perfect embellishment to add to the card. I used a paper from the SU Moonlight paper pad that is in my current kit for the tan matting on the black cardstock for the cardbase. The PL card from a kit in last month's kit gave the sentiment for the card. I have yet to figure out how I'm using the card so the inside just has tan base in it for the desired sentiment when I figure it out. Our other sponsor for this challenge is Little Blue Button Stamps http://lbbstamps.com/.
Thank you for stopping by today and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world. You should check out what my other crafty DT sisters created for this challenge too :) I look forward to seeing your creation linked up over at Jo's Scrap Shack

Shabby Gone Wild! an April Counterfeit Kit

Hi you all :) I hope the week has been fabulous for you so far :) I'm thinking I'm getting into a groove, since going back to work. Was able to get some time last night to pull my April Counterfeit Kit together :) If you have not done kitting before than this is the place to go and learn about doing it :) Right now kits seem to be a trend with scrapping but instead of buying the newest thing I go rogue and buy from my own stash :) then create my own kit :) with a little help from Counterfeit Kit Club. This month Counterfeit Kit Challenge is counterfeiting a kit from The C'est Magnifique Kit Club. Each kit reveal includes a Main Kit, Paper Add On, Mixed Media Kit, Flower Add On and Embellishment Add On (wow!) which means that this month there are countless counterfeiting opportunities. You could choose to work with the Main Kit; the Main Kit + Add Ons; the Paper Add On + the Mixed Media Kit; the Main Kit + the Flower Add ons. I think I may have gotten a mix of each with mine :) Here is my kit Shabby Gone Wild!
Yes it's a bit of a Shabby Mess when I was gathering it all up last night. You know me and the way I like large kits :) Well this month I went with extra embellishments :) When I seen the inspiring kit that very first day of April:
The first thing I grasped onto was the florals and the butterflies and I knew I had a very old 8X8 paper pad that was just perfect for this kit so that is what inspired me besides the kit picture above:
So this was the beginning of my kit :) My list from what I took from the reveal kit: Frames, Keys, Fabric Flowers, Lace Trims, Borders, Doilys, Big Words, Paper Flowers, Stencils, Polka Dot, Fibers and Victorian Style is what directed my choices for my kit:
My selection of papers, I'm taking another Nicole Jones' class: Two Page Spreads Class so I knew from the 1st class video I was gonna need alot of paper. So this is my loose paper. I also have te 8X8 paper pad and while looking for that I came across so really old 6X12 paper pads from cricut so that went into my kit, I added a 4X6 Moonlight SU paper pad to the kit and Authentic (True Blue) collection to the kit to try to finish that off this month :) and my 2 chosen Dazzles kits:
I added some trims, lace, fibers, metals and a punch that never been open to my kit :) I also am including my MS doily punch set (not in the picture) to the kit cause I have yet to use that and it looks like the month to give that a go
Some of the trims, lace, fibers, washi tape, metals and the punch. I also will have my little heart punch and die cut set available for some hearts too
A close up of the washis and metals
The chosen alphas, I stuck with the blacks, whites, purples, golds and a grey besides the one that came with the Authentic kit. That is it, that's my kit :) A bit later this month getting a chance to do and post it, but I think I'll have fun with it......
