It's the August Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop

Good Morning and welcome to August Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop.I'm following the very inspiring Margie and if you are coming from her blog then your on the right track :) but if not you may want to start at The Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog and get on board with the first stop on this month's blog hop. This is always a fun blog hop showing off the ladies creations from their current counterfeit kit. This month, you can choose to share any project you have made with your Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit which you have not shared on your blog yet. Your project could be related to any of the three challenges or maybe just something you made with your kit. As a reminder, here are the three challenges this month:
I went Outside my Stash for this layout to include a postcard I purchased and the brochure to add to my Double Page layout:
This was from a day trip in May for our Anniversary, we have been going by the sign for this place many, many times. Well my husband surprised me and on a whim we stopped to check it out. I used this sketch over at Let's Scrap sketches:

This is my go to blog for when I want to do double sketches, when I have lots of photos. This one was fun to do and it had that interactive part of the layout that I could add more photos.
I thought that from the Kraft Kuts collection that the scallop circle would be the better addition for those side pieces on the sketch. This side it held my title for the layout. Added some of those rubons that were in my kit and I also used up the travel stickers from the one pack I had in the kit.
The postcard that I purchased, I do like to get these for layouts it just seems to be a better picture and I love the angle of this one.
The right side of the layout holds 6 photos (2 are hidden) and the brochure. I attached with the intent that it can be opened.
Lots of information about the Flour Mill in the brochure.
When you open up the scallop circle on the right hand side you get these 2 extra pictures and some extra journaling.
More journaling about the day. This layout was also created on the last day of the Summer Lovin LOADmini Day 7: Summer is a Time For Adventure: We haven't taken many road trips this summer, but we did get this day trip in. Really enjoying scrapping with this month's counterfeit kit  Easy Livin' and I still have a week to play with it :)
Thank you for stopping by and do continue on with the blog hop and see what Salla has created she does so many different creative things :) and you can see what she did create at her blog.

A Love Layout for the July Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop

Good Morning and welcome to June Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop.I'm following this month's Guest Designer, she's does inspiring creative layouts too :) Gretchan's blog then your on the right track :) but if not you may want to start at The Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog and get on board with the first stop on this month's blog hop. This is always a fun blog hop showing off the ladies creations from their current counterfeit kit. This month, you can choose to share any project you have made with your Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit which you have not shared on your blog yet. You project could be related to any of the three challenges or maybe just something you made with your kit. As a reminder, here are the three challenges this month:
I went challenge #1 for this layout, I do enjoy a good read so was easily persuaded to try this challenge because of the reason. The The challenge was to take a cue from one of these book covers.

I choose love and miss c<3mmunication for my layout, I went with the love part of the title and being married as long as we have we have had our share of miss c<3mmunication this is a price about the book:
This unforgettable debut novel asks us to look up from our screens and out at the world . . . and to imagine what life would be like with no searches, no status updates, no texts, no Tweets, no pins, and no posts Yes, the way of life before the internet, I do remember that :)
So the book gave me the idea for the layout and the cloud and heart paper was a perfect background for the layout about some of the feelings I have for my husband :) For the layout itself I went to Let's Get Sketchy and used their week 2 sketch for my layout:

I shifted over the pennants so I could use the one for my journaling:) I also went to Whimsical Musings and used their Challenge #11 - Inspired by words "You have to kiss a lot of frogs in order to find your Prince."  the layout just falls right into that prompt and I've been looking at that one quite often debating on my approach to it till I came across this photo of Dave and the rest just feel into place very nicely :)
Thank you for stopping by and do continue on with the blog hop and see what Elaine has creative she does some amazing layouts too :) and you can see what she did create at her blog.
As for the internet, do I miss the days of not having it, yes and no :) seem back then that life was a little beit slower, not so multitasking. But, when I want a quick search to find something I do love that and to see the grandkids and the great grandkids anytime on facebook yep that I would not give up at all :)
Have fun and enjoy the hop.............

A Different Type of Blog Hop

Hi you all and welcome to this really different blog hop but it looks like a lot of fun! The Creative Blog Hop (TCBH). TCBH is the brain child of some wonderful enlightened blogger.

I was invited to participate in a different sort of blog hop this week by Emily at Mrs Crafty Adams. She shared her answers last week thanks for the inspirational words she said of me, I'm rooting for her to do a kit:) I'll be telling you about my creative process with some pictures along the way
1. What am I working on right now?
At the moment I'm working on a current class over at Big Picture Classes called Super Stashbusters by Aly Dosdall and it's been a super fun class. We've been doing scrapbook layouts following a challenge that Aly provides. From last year's class Stashbusters Anonymous
Also been working on a Mini Album of our trip to Steamtown in Scranton, PA

2. How long does it take to create a project?
That depends on what I am doing, but most times not to long since every month I make a kit along with the gals at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog it's always fun to pull the kit and create with it. Then I usually will follow along with a challenge from one of the many sketch challenge blogs I follow and that gives me a great starter. So unless I'm doing a very unusually technique then I can usually get a layout done with in an hour or two.
Last month's kit produced 21 layouts and a couple of cards, that is what makes it so fun to do the CKC kit cause it's there no looking just creating :)

3. What are my fave things I love to create with at the moment?
Right now I'm enjoying using sequins, the triangle studs from CTMH and their scrapbooking kits on the go, Project Life cards on my layouts, washi tape and stickles.
4. How does my writing/creating process work?
I use Oh Life that sends me an email that asks me how my day is and I answer, much like a journal book. So I either use journal entries or a memory from the photo if I sit and look at it long enough I usually will spark some memory. If I don't then I grab a Project Life card with a quote or Google a quote and that works for me.

 5. What inspires me?
Blogs, Pinterest, Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog, Scrappin N Chattin yahoo group, my Grandkids, my dogs, bright colors, vintage/heritage look and nature.

This is just 3 of the Grandkids, would love a picture of all of them together at some point but since we are so spread apart around the states I just don't see it happening.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look into my creative process. I have 3 bloggers that you can visit for inspiration...

Ruth and I are on the same design team at Creative Cutting Challenge and I just love to see what she's scrappin or making and  through her I found a super fun group of ladies at Scrappin N Chattin. Paper and Musings it's fun when we both take the sae cut file and make such totally different layouts she's an inspiration for me.

Cindy at Cindy's Creations love to see what she is creating, I'm in awe sometimes with what she does. Cindy also introduced me to Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog plus we are on the same design team for Card A Day Blog. Cindy makes some amazing cards for our troops.

I love the cards and layouts that Brenda makes Friends Crafting with Friends. She and I have similar lives with husbands that enjoy the same hobbies that is unique to find within the crafting world.

Hey you all have a fun day!

Merry Christmas to YOU Blog Hop

1st I would like to say my prayers are with the Families in Conn.

Hi you all I hope your enjoying the hop this is the card I have done for you all today
This card started with the squirrel cut off of Jolly Holidays cricut cartridge. I used Liquid Applique to give a real nice 3D effect to my card. It's really cool to use on Christmas cards to give an effect resembling snow or the fluff on a hat.

First you want to cut out the parts and glue the layers together. The layer cartridges are pretty cool to use because they add cut marks for lining each piece. I use Scotch scrapbooker's liquid glue in case I have to wiggle any of the pieces to fit (dries quick though)(cut out at 3")
Next you want to put on the liquid applique (mine is from Marvy, you should be able to get it at any scrapbook store). I have added the liquid to the white on the hat and used the heat gun to make the applique effect.
Add some stickles to dress it up and it looks great on the front of a card. Takes about an hour to get it put together from all the pieces cut out. Easy-peasy.

Supplies Cardstock: Red, white, black, brown and tan (All from ANW/Crestwood, Inc.)
Patterned Paper:  DCWV the Cristmas Combo stack
Stamps: Merry Christmas from Scrappy Cat
Ink: True Red (Ink it Up)
Pens: White gelly roll pen for stitching
Die cuts: Squirrel from Jolly Holidays
Ribbon: Sheer Red (Jo-Anns)
Trimmer: Cricut and Fiskars
Punches: Fiskars lace corner for the sentiment
Adhesive: Scotch Scrapbooker's Glue
Stickles: Xmas Red, Diamond, Paprika
Embossing powder: SU Iridescent Ice with the fluff
Electronic cutter: Cricut Expression
Tools: as we call the basic kit (it all sits out on my craft desk)

Thanks for stopping by my corner of the world and you next stop is at  Tahi Scrap Corner
(Small world, we both have a craft corner in this big world)

Jingle Bell Rock Hop

Hi all and welcome to my blog. My project for this particuliar hop was found in the Tis the Season cricut cartridge
The card base is red cardstock from one of the value packs, the background was cut out of music paper I got from a paper purchase on 2 peas in a bucket for sale board. Now the cut is from Tis the Season CM cartridge

and what is cool about it's all right there to be cut out and makes a great focal point on a card. It was cut out at 3.75" which as you can see it filled up just about the entire A2 card.
All the pieces for the cut came from scraps I had on hand. A ribbon border with a bow to add some texture and now I got a cute card ready to go. Don't forget to leave a comment and check out the next stop on this Jingle Bell Rock Hop.
Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world......
Your next stop is Amanda at  Crick`tn Crafts and see what she is rocking!

My Crazy Dogs!

Welcome to our Crazy Dog and Cupcake Blog Hop!  What started out as a random idea for a blog hop turned into a funny theme!  We threw out some ideas on different "odd observances" in the up coming months ~ one being National Dog Day and the other Cupcake Day ~ everyone seemed to like these two themes so we put it to a vote!  Who would have thought it would have turned into a tie?!  So we voted once more ~ thanks to Pamela's creative thinking, she put the two together.  What could be more fun than working with dogs and cupcakes!  So sit back and enjoy the fun and creative projects the group has put together for you today!

My project for the hop is a 2 page layout
My Crazy dogs just love the snow! On January 21, 2012 we got 5.25" of snow. Jake the older dark color dog loves to just lay out in the snow, rub in the snow and eat the snow. Now Buddy he is a bit more crazier about the snow. When we shovel snow off the porch, Buddy likes to jump and try to catch the snow in mid-air. So I took this day to get the memory of this on film so while my husband was shovelling I took the pictures and a video. For me to get the complete jump for the page I took clips of pictures of him jumping from the video taken.
It was just a fun filled day in the snow.

Now it's time to grab your cupcake and Fido and head to Jennifer F. blog.

Thank you for hopping along with us today!  We hope you have enjoyed our fun hop.
You'll find plenty of cupcakes in the blog candy I'm offering today-Just leave a comment today and your in the draw. I will post the winner on Wednesday. Thanks for stopping by have a fantastic day!

Spittin the Seeds-Traditon

Welcome to The Watermelon Crawl Blog Hop! Who doesn’t like to bite into a red, ripe, juicy watermelon on a hot summer day? Yum!!!! If you drive down South, you can find people selling them on the side of the road, out of their pick-up trucks. I think these are the best, because they come right out of the garden.  You will always find a cute watermelon cut out at a baby shower or wedding shower, we eat them on the 4th of July, and we make sherbet and wine. You will find them in our kitchens; on our walls, curtains and cookie jars. And they are so darn fun to craft with.  Today we have some very talented women that want to share their watermelon crafts with you. So come do the Watermelon Crawl with us! You don’t want to miss anything so the beginning of the hop will start at Pamela’s Blog http://kraftykatstampstudio.blogspot.com

If you arrive from Jennifer J, then you are on the right path!

My Project is a layout I did of when the Grandkids were at our house for their last visit before going back home to South Dakota this past July.
Tradition at our house and probably most other houses is when we get watermelon there will be a seed spittin contest and if your hit you loss (something like tag). I found out about the tradition shortly after my husband and I met and we got the watermelon and he let it rip. So 19 years later it's still going on and our grand-kids from South Dakota weren't any exception to that tradition. So the last night we had them over for a visit at our house it was watermelon time after dinner. Awe Amber I think she was the first to get hit, LOL. All in fun though..... It was a great way to end a wonderful visit.

Now you must crawl over to Miriam to see what is left on the vine.
But remember… to be eligible for the candy you must follow ALL the giveaway rules above.
Thanks for hopping with us and remember…
Have fun y’all, do the watermelon crawl!

My blog candy-Just leave a comment today and your in the draw. I will post the winner on Monday with the other winner from the previous blog hop.

Here is my rendition of a card I received at our local card swap last weekend, love to get inspiration from other places!

Isn't it a cool idea for a card! The one I received from the swap was snatched up so quick by my husband for Albert's birthday on the 1st that I didn't even get a chance to take a picture of the original card. I think I came similarly close to the same idea that she had done.

Oh yeah, I have some blog candy I'm giving away too.

I also have some blog candy available and this is what you need to do to get a chance to win it:
The drawing for the Barbeque sticker pack and the chipboard album will be drawn Monday by  random.org. All you need to do is: today and tomorrow to qualify either become a follower or leave a comment, if you do both you'll have 2 chances, that's it. If you come both days you really have a lot chances.

Enjoy the Superbowl if your watching, Since my favorite team (San Fran) didn't make it I'll have to root my husband's team the New England Patriots. Go Patriots!
