Let's Go to the Fair

Good Morning to you :) I'm a little delayed on posting this layout for Stick It Down we were away yesterday and I never checked on it to realize it was still in draft mode in blogger :) Yep that kind of weekend just went with the flow with no cares as to what was happening :) I seen Friday's post was the same way so you'll see that one later today. So did you all have a great holiday weekend :) We did and you'll see layouts from the place that we visited yesterday, The National Civil War Museum, it was very interesting.
So this is the 1st challenge of the month over at Stick It Down the double page layout, but first I want to share with you today and our sponsor this month is Spiegelmom Scraps!

SpiegelMom Scraps is a specialty sequin mix shop based in Racine, Wisconsin (US).   SMS's owner, Jody, began her love of crafting as a child with her Nana and making coasters with yarn and plastic canvas.  From then on she never looked back and has always been creative.  She's been scrapbooking nearly 20 years and has always loved to sprinkle pretty little details throughout her scrapbook pages.  Jody's love of creating, adding tiny details and sparkle led her to start her business in 2010.  Since then SpiegelMom Scraps has grown, along with Jody's busy family, to a one woman small business with a fabulous design team called the Sparklers.   Jody and the Sparklers enjoy teaming up with other small businesses to swap products to create with and hosting fun events on social media.  Jody would love you to join them on their creative journey by following SMS on social media.  There's LOTS of inspiration and a wonderful community in the 15 Minutes 2 Scraps Facebook group also.  Please stop by and leave a comment telling us where you heard about SMS!

Here is the Double Page sketch:
and this the layout I created from the sketch:
I really wanted to mimic the busyness of the border of the sketch and thought that layering different pattern papers and punching a couple would do it :) This was a few of the exhibits we saw at the fair within the buildings picking out a few favorites to scrap. I increased the number of photos from 6 to 7 and changed it up a bit but the essence of the sketch is still there.
The left side of the layout:
This year at the fair I concentrated most of my pictures to the flower exhibits and this side of the page shows a few that I chose that I really liked. I used alot of scraps on this layout from my August kit: Summer Life as this is part of our Summer Life. I used scraps from the kit for the border strips and bringing in the triangle pieces that were in the sketch.
The right side of the layout
You see the same elements on this side that was on the left side other than I did the photos into a grid to add more of them to the layout. The striped border reminds me of all those ribbons on the photo of Dave with the canning jars. There were some great exhibits this year at the fair.
Some close up photos of the layout
I used a variety of embellishments from my kit too. Word card, die cuts and puffy stickers
More of the triangles were used on this side of the layout
The pictures on the left side of some of my favorites from the rest of the exhibits in the buildings
and my journaling.
Thank you so much for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creation for this fun busy bordered sketch :)
Stop back later to see the other post I have for you

Houston! We Have A Problem! layout for Counterfeit Kit Challenge 2nd Challenge

Good Morning and welcome :) Today Master Forger Cindy has challenge us for the 2nd challenge of the month over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog to Mix and Match Journaling or Title for our project. We have them in our stash - alphabet stickers, word stickers, stamps, dies and even punches. The challenge is to use at least two different alphabet styles for your title or journaling.
Challenge on! Here is the title that I created from 2 different alphas in my stash:
A fun take on the LOAD prompt too :) That helped me come up with my title of my layout and the story to journal too.
Using paper, alphas and embellishments from my counterfeit kit: Summer Life, this is in it's truest form of what our summer life is. Enjoying days out and about with friends and if we're seeing Minneapolis Molines tractors then the day is even better!
For my layout inspiration I used this sketch:
http://evenmorescrapping.blogspot.com/2016/08/kingdom-rock-vbs-layout.html
From Even More Scrapping blog.
I was glad to spin the story of the issue with the hubby's car's air conditioner for this day trip. Yes we did have a problem, the air conditioning was not working, found out about an hour into the ride down. For me I was trying to take a nap when it was just toooo hot! Working the night shift and leaving after work I do this quite often on the weekends if we want to go somewhere. Well not much sleep but the day was great anyways.
Me with my wind blown hair from having the car windows down.
Yes we do enjoy seeing the old tractors. Thank you for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing you creation for this challenge linked up over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog.

In the School House layout for Use Your Stuff challenge-Triangles

Good Morning and welcome :) I hope you are having a great start to this first full week of August. Today I am the host over at Use Your Stuff challenge blog and the challenge I chose to host is Triangles....Let's see these lovely shapes on your project for the week.......
This is what I created using triangles:
For my layout inspiration I used pinterest and also used my current counterfeit kit: Summer Life. This was our 1st stop at the fair, we always enjoy seeing what the kids have created and these were a few of our favorites and I can see the judges liked them too. I used 3 pattern papers from my kit that I pulled together from my 100 pattern paper pile.
 My journaling
The corner picture of the building itself. I used some of the paper clips in my kit for the layout in reference to school and I also grabbed an old pack of stickers I got at the dollar store when I first started scrapping that had reference to school
3 of my favorite exhibits in the school house :) I did some doodling on the background triangles
plus the quilt had a triangle edge too. This is part of our Summer Life seeing the local fair and this is gonna be a good month to scrap those memories with my counterfeit kit. Thank you for stopping by today to see what I'm up too in my little corner of the world....
If your seeing triangles in your creating this week then come on over to Use Your Stuff challenge blog and link it up...

CKC - August Kit Reveal - Summer Life

Good Morning :)   If you are looking for the Sketch N Scrap post you can find it here.
Well hello August! Wow where did July go! Master Forger Cindy has given us an inspiring kit this month to counterfeit. But first we would like to give a shout out to our Guest Forger this month is Doreen Vasquez
I'm just about at the end of the blog hop :) So you should have reached me from the creative Lisa's blog excited to see what she pulled together for this inspiration. If you are just beginning the blog hop here then you will find the full hop order at the bottom of this post.
The kit she has chosen for us is the July 2018  Cocoa Daisy “Twinkling of the Tea”.
 https://www.cocoadaisy.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/twinkling-of-the-tea.jpg

There’s a nice mix of greens, oranges and yellows in this kit to take us into the Fair Season and late summer.

They also have a Pocket Kit, Pattern paper add on, Stamp Set, Planner Kit and a Planner add on kit – links are below. I have attached pictures of the kits. The website has lots more.

Now my process of figuring out a kit from this inspiration is this:
Scribbling of notes about the kit I see :) So here is my kit:
This kit and the words reflect what our Summer has been about less the tractor die cuts which you may see on my layouts this month. Love the soften colors of the kit for the end of the summer her in PA.
My papers, little bit of everything from the list except the Plus Signs and the Doodly Dot, with an additional map paper for my title page of my Cleveland Trip album. Went first to my 100 Pattern Paper challenge pile first to pick papers from before heading to my stash of Paper Pads and lastly looked in a couple of my loose pattern paper drawers to finish it off
My alphas lots of blacks and greys.
Chip board, 3 different stamp sets and the hexagon punch too. Added 3 ribbons to the kit and the paper clips in some extra colors
Variety of die cuts I brought over from last months kit it worked out well for this kit and the color scheme.
Sure is the good stuff with in this kit and looks like a fun month to scrap too.
Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your kit from this fun challenge this month :) Now off you go and see what fun kit Laura came up with over on her Instagram page

Do Small Things with Great Heart layout for Sketch N Scrap challenge

Good Morning, Happy August and welcome to the 1st post of the day today :) Sketch N Scrap has an Awesome sketch to play with for the 1st of the month.:
Image may contain: text
This is my take on this fun sketch:
Using a darker floral background for the layout from my 100 pattern paper challenge pile and the rest of the lighter brighter papers coming from my Counterfeit Kit: Dash of This and Dash of That. Our granddaughter Isabelle doing some community service with a team of girls from her school. Great to see these girls doing something for the community
My journaling and title to the layout
fun cluster next to this photo of Isabelle
and the cluster in the top corner. Definetly a fun sketch and I can see it being used in many ways for many things :) I look forward to seeing what you create with this fun sketch over at Sketch N Scrap challenge blog

Great Gift layout for a Funday Friday challenge

Good Morning and welcome :) I hope you have had a great week this week :) If you have stopped over looking for the Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style challenge you can find that post here

Happy Friday to you :) It's Funday Friday and Today over at Jo's Scrap Shack our challenge is Always Anything Goes. Our sponsor this week is Little Blue Button Stamps. I dug into a stash of bits and pieces looking for one of the printables that I may have on hand and found 2 that I added to the clustering on this layout:
When I was looking through my photos to use for the art pieces I came across these photos from early in the year and they spoke to me for this layout :) So went looking for some papers to use for the layout I come across some in an older counterfeit kit: from my April counterfeit kit: Spring Flings and Easter Things. The background paper came from my 100 Pattern Paper challenge pile, been trying to get into this pile more often lately so I can get that conquered before the end of the year.
For my layout inspiration I used a sketch over at Sketch N Scrap's July crop on facebook:
No automatic alt text available.
Rotating it just once to work with my photos. Love the layering on this sketch and was able to use some scraps on it too.
The title for the layout it was a great gift I got for Christmas from my brother and his wife :) The bits and pieces came from the stash bowl that I got the art printables from.
When I first put out the gift for the birds, using the printable and a few punched out hearts
The other printable I added to the 2 photos here at the bottom of the layout. The hello actually came from this month's counterfeit kit in the ephemera pack. Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creations for this fun challenge.

Seeing The Animals Layout for a Sketches in Thyme PL style challenge

Good Morning to you :) I hope you are having a fantastic day and weekend. Wow where the heck is July off too going by so fast!
We have a wonderful sketch challenge over at Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style  for the 2nd half of the month it is a title project life card. The card I created with Emma's sketch is:
The card was one I had in my stash for awhile it is one that I precut a 3X4 pattern paper when I was 1st getting into project life years ago. I created my title for my layout using the card and this fun sketch from Emma:
 No automatic alt text available.
Here is the layout that I created using this card:
Going to the fair I still stop and take a peek into to see the animals they have for the petting zoo, one of my favorite places to go as a kid was the petting zoo wherever we went and it was available.
The title card on the layout.
 Journaling
and some added chipboard from my current counterfeit kit: Dash of This and Dash of That. The background paper came from my 100 Pattern Paper Challenge pile.
Thank you for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creation for this sketch challenge over at Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style

Sesquicentennial July 4th Layout-Funday Friday challenge

Happy Friday to you :) It's Funday Friday and Today over at Jo's Scrap Shack our challenge is Always Anything Goes. Our sponsor this week is Little Blue Button Stamps. I had gotten Vintage recipe printable cards. I love to use their printables on layouts this particular set is great for journaling, fussy cutting the edge that was not needed but kept the rest for a fabulous journal block that I printed big enough to cut in half and add journaling to both sides of the layout. Here is the double page layout I created using it:
This was a work in progress layout with the right side getting done 2 weeks ago for that Funday Friday and now the other side for this week's Funday Friday Challenge. These were pictures of us enjoying a bit of the 4th in Downtown Williamsport for the 150th Anniversary. We never been there for this festival so it was a good day to check it out. Using my 100 Pattern Paper challenge pile for the background paper and the rest of the paper came from scraps on my craft desk.
I used the sketch from last month over at Let's Scrap for inspiration for this layout:
One of the only challenge sites left offering just double page layout inspiration.
This is the side I created this week, lots of layers with the matting and that long banner was fun to create and gives a festive look.
The opposing side I created 2 weeks ago :) Some pictures I got from when we were exploring Downtown Williamsport, times have changed since I was a kid and went downtown often, cool to see so much artwork in the brick of the buildings.
Using the clock journaling card for the theme of the layout to add my journaling
 Pictures closeup
and the journaling from the right side layout. Thank you for stopping by and I look forward to seeing what you create for this fun challenge.
So make sure to play along this week~
