Reel Life Story

Good Morning and welcome to this week's Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenge: Triangles. I have 4 of them on this layout:
I made this layout for LOAD 1016 Day 9: The prompt was to use something that made you excited to buy it, but never used it! Haven't we all fall into the scenario :) I've bought lots of stamp sets that have made me excited to get, lots of ideas and then nothing! put it away and never used it! This stamp set I had in many counterfeit kits and still didn't use it, well this day was the day to use it :) and this also is one of the challenges that were for The 20 Project class too (something I need to get back to and finish up :).
I missed out on getting this posted in time for the sketch I used over at GrandDiva's Creative Corner:
It was a really interesting layout to try.
The layout was a couple of pictures I took of the growth of the sweet corn in the garden. the 1st photo was from the back view of the garden and the 2nd photo was almost a month later at the front view, just a different way to look at the garden :) When your summers are of the same things sometimes you got to change it up a bit :) I love to take morning walks with Buddy in the summer after work so my focus is usualy the garden. Close ups:

Thank you for stopping buy today and I look forward to seeing what you create for this challenge :) over at Lasting Memories

Best Day Ever

Some quick blog posts to make sure I get these layouts into their challenges that are ending very shortly over at Let's Get Sketchy.
This is from the sketch of week 1 and LOAD1016 Day 3 prompt was to use Ink. I used the ink for stamping, my hand journaling and misting on the layout. My Granddaughter Jessica:
Just 6 years ago, she got her license at 15 (she lives in South Dakota), now she's all grown up with a couple of girls of her own :) I used my current counterfeit kit: Flower Power for the layout and used the stamp set that I included in the kit for the words and some of the cutouts too. I used paper too from the stack of 100 Patterned Paper Challenge for the layout ( I used 4 papers for this layout). This also could be used for one of the prompts in The 20 Project class I took of Shimelle's.
The sketch I used over at Let's Get Sketchy was from Week 1:
I really like this layout and think I'll keep around abit and do it again :)
 My journaling
 Miss Sassy!
I love how this title block turned out :)
Thanks for checking out what I'm creating

Create

Good Morning you and welcome :) I'm the Maven today for Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style :) I had a blast with the sketch and some paper in my counterfeit kit: Flower Power that I could color, taking a cue from my Granddaughter's creation she made for school :) I loved Art Class and Jr High so I'm glad to see her creating too. My card:
I had fun coloring the flowers on the card with my markers, added 3 scraps of the pattern papers I used on the layout :) so that is 5 papers I used from my 100 Pattern Paper challenge, that is also from my counterfeit kit Flower Power. I water colored the heart that was on the coloring paper and fussy cut it out for the card. I stayed pretty true to the sketch for the challenge this week:

 My layout that I created:
Our granddaughter Isa showing off the picture she created. This layout was also from the prompt from LOAD: Day10 prompt: Today you are going to grab either paint or watercolor and make a patterned paper. Use any style you wish. That is what I created my background pattern paper :) Now I used CTMH watercolor paint for my paper and I had it for quite awhile, but I had to first open it up before I could use it :) So I chose colors around what she used in her picture for my color scheme :) This was such a blast I don't know why I waited so long to use the paints. Water colored and fussy cut out the large flower and the pink hearts and flower for the 1st challenge over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog.

 Close ups of the layout

Hand written my title with Watercolor paints :) Felt like I was getting my Shimelle on :) doing this something I seen here do in her 20 project class. Thanks for stopping by today and seeing what I'm up too in my little corner of the world and I hope to see your creation from this fun sketch over at Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style

We have a fun stamp set up for grabs this month! Be sure to get your cards/layouts linked up for a chance to win this:

Look Here

Good Morning to you :) Can you believe this is the last day of August! Wow the summer season is just about over, while walking with the dog this morning I seen fallen leaves! and orange pumpkins in the garden! It's coming way to fast this year, I'm not anxious for fall.... I love the sun and all the fresh veggies in the garden. So I guess I better deal with it :) Atleast I have summer pictures to scrap for a bit in the fall.
Today's layout is one of the goodies of summer, the 1st corn of the season and was it delicious!
I used my current counterfeit kit Easy Livin' for this layout, I was drawn to the blue on the plate and that made me think of a blue prompt over at Whimsical Musings, Challenge #204 – Tiffany Blue be inspired by Tiffany Blue.
So I took the left over blue in my kit and also used some blue stamping for the title and the embellishments for this layout. I used the sketch over at The Memory Nest for the layout: sketch #69

It was a fun sketch to work with, I have one more to do this week yet for the summer challenge Leslie is having over at The Memory Nest.
So the beginning of this layout came from The 20 Project:  Day 17: Whittle down that giant stack of photos
So I took the printed photos I just got from snapfish
 This stack of 99 prints
and I separated them into piles for scrapbook layouts. It was fun to tackle this like this right from the start. Now I have plans for about 10 layouts maybe a few more depending on the large stack of reunion photos and how I handle those. After separating them we were to take one stack and create a layout :) Which I accomplished.
Shimelle's class, a few of the 1st few prompts is about stamps and I had these stamps in my CKC Just Chillin' last month and it's been sitting on my desk so I knew I was using those and a set of letter stamps I received in a swap a long time ago that never saw ink :) So it was fun to do some stamping and adding it to my layout.
My journaling I chose a silver pen, now thinking it may have been a bad choice, so may rewrite the journaling on the back of the layout. It says: 1st corn of the summer season we were just talking about it yesterday at the family reunion, Dan had asked about it. I thought it wasn't quite ready, but to my surprise, I guess it was. A great meal that night.
More close up of the stamping. So glad to have this in the Album for 2016. Thanks for stopping by and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world. Tomorrow is a new day, a new month and new inspiration from Counterfeit Kit Challenge :) Still have some of this month's kit to play with yet to finish out the week :) The weekend I'll be able to gather up the new kit :)

My August Counterfeit Scrapbook Kit

Good Evening :) I'm a bit late to the party this month, but I did pull a small counterfeit kit together for August's Counterfeit Kit Challenge. Our inspiration comes from Germany this time a European kit for our inspiration and selected the March 2016 kit from Papier Werkstatt which I thought hmmmmm lots of neutrals in this kit :)

Here is my kit: Easy Livin'
So I chose some neutrals and I also chose so color around the embellishment pack they had. I also grabbed a couple of mulberry papers (I don't know why I haven't used these yet) and a specialty gold paper both came from a swap box I got years ago and maybe some night this week I'll play with my manual diecutter a bit. I added a few of the scraps from last month's kit to this kit that seem to fit the color scheme and I also added lots of embellishments to the kit
I know we only have 11 days left to this month, but with doing Shimelle's The 20 Project class I'll have no problem using this kit papers up :) and one of her challenges was to build a kit around a mood board, I think I found my mood board very interesting this month :) Have a great rest of the weekend and maybe grab a few papers and make up your own little kit :)

Simply the Best

Yes he sure is :) Today's layout features our favorite pooch, Buddy. It also features to sketch challenges. Today I am the featured Maven over at Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style and this is the card I made for my layout:
And the sketch this week is:
Now for the reveal of Sketch #39 by our fabulous, Treasa Cimorose......
A 4X6 card that I then embellished with paw printed ribbon, journaling stickers and a cut out for the corner piece that Treasa had the scallop piece at.
The layout:
Sorry about the blue tint but that is the instagram photo I took of Buddy, I guess now he really does look like a blue heeler. I used the sketch over at The Memory Nest for my layout.
My version of the sketch :) this is sketch No. 68, I have fallen behind on the sketches, but planning t catch up really fast this week.
Close up the center of the layout. I am still working with last month's counterfeit kit Just Chillin' and trying to get through some of the scraps that were left in that kit. I wasn't able to scrap as much as I would have liked last month so scrapping some of the pictures that I had planned to scrap this month. Before the end of the week you will see this month's kit :) a small version of the kit.
The stars that I had cut for a previous layout the extras worked out perfect for this layout.
And that cute journal card I created plus my own hand written journaling. This was a fun layout and the sketches were great to use. We hope to see your creation from the top sketch over at Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style soon.
Your prize for August is this Purr-fect Halloween stamp! You will have until August 31 to link up your cards. We can't wait to see how you are inspired to create this month!!!
