Everyday Dream LO for CKC-Challenge #2

Good Morning and welcome to today's challenge over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog. Master Forger Leslie has challenged us with this lovely image and quote:

Ahhh... blue sky daydreams...

Challenge # 2:
Dreams are the seeds of change.
Nothing ever grows without a seed,
and nothing ever changes without a dream. - Debby Boone
I hope you can find inspiration from this quote or the image provided.

Isn't that image just draws you into summer and such a cool quote. For my layout I used them both as an image to go with my other pictures on my double page layout:
I added the quote right onto the image. This layout is about the beginning days of getting my truck prepared for it's 1st show, decided to take my business on the road. My target market was people that attend Antique Tractor Shows, something that I wasn't going to find at home other than my hubby :) So on the road I went. This was the a trial run of setting up my truck so I knew a bit of what I was doing before getting to the show grounds.
 Sketch designed by Noreen Smith
Used this sketch from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine for my layout inspiration.
The left side of the layout. I used that navy floral I added to my Enjoy the Ride kit, pulled out another from the paper pad for the double page layout. Used the scrap of green paper I had left from the layout I posted yesterday and also that darker green paper. The title came from the glittery word thickers and so did some of the embellishing. I also used some diecuts from the pack of diecuts in the kit. The birds, butterfly and flowers.
The right side of the layout
My journaling :) after taking the photos of the layout and looking over the journaling I found I put 2 strips in the wrong position but have fixed it after taking the photo.
That special image and quote that prompt this story to be told :) I knew I was doing it about my old business as that was my dream and the hardest thing was finding the photos as I knew the ones I wanted to scrap but wasn't sure where they were! Yep need to work on some photo organization.
and the title work. Love how this came out and all because of one image with one special quote. Thank you for stopping by today and seeing what I'm creating with my fun kit this month! What have you been creating?

Home Machine

Welcome back to another layout from LOAD517 Day29
Prompt:
The Matrix – 1999
Create a layout that tells about a decision that indirectly led you to an entirely different experience. I never would have thought I’d end up ____ when I started doing _____.
This was a fun way to start a prompt with a statement to start off my journaling. I had come across some early photos when I was just about to get started with my business venture and this embroidery job pretty well clinched the thoughts of me getting an embroidery commercial machine. found out the home machine could only do so much.
I used that crazy piece of scrapbook paper that was in my current counterfeit kit: Nature's Party. I really was struggling with using this paper for some odd reason.
I used the sketch over at Sketches in Thyme for my layout:
A fun layout to play with :)
 My journaling spot
Fun word stickers for the corner cluster. I used brads once again for my embellishment along with a piece of ribbon for a paper strip.
The small title thought it would reference the small machine well.
This is the hat, found it was a bit harder to do with the home machine and if I wanted to make this business work and be profitable I would need a larger machine.
Thanks for stopping by once again today to see what I've been doing in my little corner of the world.

On The Pennsylvania Road

Good afternoon :) If your are looking for the Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style post you can find it here

Lasting Memories has it's new weekly challenge today. The theme of the month is All About the Photos and the challenge for this week is Only One Photo! This is usually a struggle for me as I like to use lots of photos on my layout to tell the visual story, but the 1 photo layout is very popular at this moment, you can see alot of this on the sketch challenge sites too. Since it's LOAD month, I thought I would use a layout I made from a previous LOAD:
This layout is about my retired business, I come across this picture when I was looking for something else (isn't that usually the case), thiis was a picture that I received from one of my customers. I'm looking forward to finding many goodies as I sort out my old truck to prepare for a planned layout. Thinking I have lots of memorabilia of when I was on the road and at shows, that are gonna tell some fun stories. But this story is based on LOAD216 Day4: Theme is Language and the girl that did the daily layout did one one her native country and how there are so many visitors that there are different tones of accents. So that is what I decided to base my layout on the different accents just in Pennsylvania! I did some research and boy was it interesting to learn so much about the state I live in.
This is just some of the information about our state accents that I gathered (there is so much information out there!) Pennsylvania is home to six dialects! Based solely upon pronunciation and grammar, researchers generally split the United States into a number of linguistic regions. Those regions come together in Pennsylvania — which makes the state kind of a crossroads of the English language. Fascinating :)
I found this fun clip art of the state and print and cut it out to use for my title (which I have to give credit to our local channel 16 they have a segment called that) I highlighted where I live withe the foam heart
My own personal journaling about the accents :) After traveling to so many different tractor shows in the state, it was uncanny the different accents that I got to hear just being in a different area of the state. So this was one fun layout to do and another layout for my All About Me album that may produce another just on my business album.

State Fair for Stick It Down Challenge

Hi you all and welcome to anybody new to my blog :) Wow March already! Where did February go? Oh that's right LOAD took place and that usually makes the month rush by :) I have a packed full month of craftiness ahead and will tell you about it along the way, but first.......
Welcome to the March Stick It Down sketch blog challenge. This month I'm the featured DT member for the Double page sketch so my layout is on the post over on the Stick It Down Blog.

I thought that the sketch was so cool with all those photo spots so made sure to get this event scrapped :)
Isn't this cool :) Lots of places for photos :)
The left side of the layout has a couple of pictures of the city outside of the hotel with included map to carry on that theme from the 1st 2 pg layout I did called 19 Hours
Lots of pictures and lots of journaling too. Each block depicts a certain event taking place.
Close ups of the layout:
Pictures of the city from the hotel, it was great to get outside once in awhile when I could sneak the time to do it :)
I added the cover of the brochure I received about the membership with NNEP as one of the pennants
Close up of the midway for the Friday night fun
My journaling block that was about the email I got about the show.
The 1st event was a welcome session. The theme of the event was State Fair, so they were doing something with the pig and their charity so that was pointed out here too. Added a fun pig flair from a CTMH kit :)
These pictures are from the dinner we had on Saturday night :) with a State Fair theme. Hot dogs, chicken, variety of salads and such :)
I did my journaling here and over there in the corner too :)
I used my current counterfeit kit for the layout and the Midway collection from October Afternoon, the flair buttons came for a CTMH kit. Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you join in on the fun of this challenge :) Can't wait to see what you create.

19 Hours

It took me 19 hours to get to Des Moines, Iowa from Williamsport, PA. Yep Map Quest lied to me :) it said it would take approximately 15 hours, thinking oh I can do this and probably get there a little faster if I drive a bit faster than the speed limit! Not!
This is LOAD day 16 Transportation: Car as soon as I heard that it was car this was the 1st thing that popped into my head, a story I tell very often so that should be the one I scrap.
I have pictures of the hotel and the view from my hotel. I had kept the map and cut that apart to add to the layout like it was scrap paper. Cut outs from the brochure I received for membership, lots of travel related embellishments and some journaling too. Pictures of the ride home too some of the huge farms along the highway, a very flat highway. I made sure to make it a 2 day process going home with staying over in Indiana. This layout is packed full!
I used the sketch over at Let's Scrap for my layout inspiration

The essence of the layout is there, I used alot of the clustering blocks with the map and journaling spots.
The left side of the layout has the Map, a view outside the window of my room, When I walked out of the hotel to the city view and that awesome waterfall. Lots of vactaion style stickers and cutouts. Veneer arrow pointing to the destination and 19 Hours is in foam style thickers. The No. 01 refers to this is my first NNEP Embroidery Event, a  convention and business trade show.
The right side holds a picture of some of the banners of the companies that are there. The front of the Road Map has the date, The journaling block there talks of my drive. Some fun traveling embellishments, another small cut out of the map with that interesting word sticker and a couple pictures of the farms I saw on the way home off the highway. (Lots of flat land, something I'm not use to :)
 The views
 The title section
The journaling
A small map of the state and an interesting sticker
The picture of the farms I saw (so flat :) the hubby would love to farm that soil) The wood veneer journey actually points to the car punch-out
A closer view of the trade show. It was an experience for sure. They crammed alot into 2 days with the last day we could venture the sales area. I planned to get a hotel half way home so wasn't in to much of a hurry to leave. I used my current counterfeit kit Color Splash and my travel theme stash.

Part Of My Journey a LO for Lasting Memories Challenge

Good Morning to you :) I hope that the weekend has been well for you. I have been catching up on the videos for an online class I'm taking at Craft With May: Vacation 2015. The class shows various ways to approach a Vacation Album, since my Steamtown Album is on my list to finish up this month I thought catching up with the class was the perfect inspiration to get me back into the project. This week should be a good week to get that goal accomplished. But, today is for this week's newest challenge over at Lasting Memories: The Journey. This is what I did with a little bit of help from LOAD to get this part of my like down on paper:
This layout came about from the LOAD prompt: Broadway Show:
Have you ever felt like your life was On Stage?
Every life is full of many stories; if your life was “Live on Broadway”, what would the show be titled?
So I went looking about at the plays on Broadway and come across this one: How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying So that became the title of my layout. The play does depict part of my own Journey in Life, so with that said this is the inspirational quote to use for this week's challenge over at Lasting Memories:

What a wonderful quote to work with and there is so many ways to got with it, check out what the other designers have done over at Lasting Memories
There were times in my business that my husband was struggling to understand what I was doing with my life, with my business. That's fine because it was my journey to make sense of, there are times when I don't understand his journey too :)
A close up of the pictures: One when I started (I was mobile back then) and the other was one that was taken close to finishing up my business (I was the in-house embroiderer for a local screen-printing business). I also included a printout of my logo in the layout. We decided to close my business this year when problems arise with the machinery, with the people I was working for and my husband to be able to retire if he wanted to. Boy talking about getting gray over a 10 year period! Things can change very quickly over a decade.
My journaling came from and article that my company was featured in and thought it made a nice addition to the layout
I used last month's counterfeit kit and some scraps too. Stickers from Simple Stories 24/7 line and candy dots from Stampin Up.
I used 3 different Alphas for the Title. look forward to bring more stories on my time in business, lots of fun stories from on the road and some not so fun. As we clean out 2 trucks for a huge yardsale in August, I know I'll be coming across many things from my business ventures and can see them going into the many smashbooks that are waiting for such stories!
We look forward to seeing where your Journey will take you this month......
