Funday Friday Hello From Miss Lily

I can't believe I had left this in draft mode, so sorry for the delay :)
Hello from Miss Lily on a Bike card for today's Funday Friday challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack. Today's challenge is a card, layout or project that is both Embossed and Distressed and our sponsor for this challenge is Little Blue Buttons Stamps:
I made a card with LBBS digi stamp Miss Lily on a Bike:
I used the sketch at Stick it Down for my card

I did dry embossing by using an embossing folder I received with my cuttlebug for the background mat and I used distress in the edge of the sentiment/digi stamp layer. I used lots of stickles in various colors for Lily and I also colored her with Bic markers. I distressed with Mustard Seed distress ink and the sentiment comes for 3 Twenty Crafts Strike A Pose stamp set and I stamped the Hello in Broken China distress ink. Added 3 Stampin Up Subtles Candy Dots to the digi stamp to give a diagonal flow for the eyes to see.
The inside of the card holds a pocket for a gift card made out of the leftover piece of embossed mat. A fun sentiment I found on line and computer generated with distressing along the edge of the mat. I also distressed the inside of the card a bit with using tape to pull away the smooth of the cardstock to give it a rougher look. A card ready to send to my next relative or friend that gets s new house. Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creation linked up.

Day 11-The Hanging Ornaments Card

Good morning all and welcome to Day 11 of my 12 days leading up to the drawing of the person that will receive the 100 blogger giveaway-to learn more about the give away you need to go to this post, become a follower and make a comment on this post. Today is it, the last day to leave a comment on the 100 blogger post. Over the next few days I'll be showing more of the cards I had made in a class at my local's home/shop:
This was a fun and interesting card to do. On a white card base is the dark green cardstock that was first embossed with cuttlebug's candy cane embossing folder and then die cute in variety of places with Stampin Up Holiday Ornament Framelets and then stamped with the Ornament Keepsake stamps, adding some diamond stickles to the inked stamps, gives it a nice sparkly look. Add some sparkly twine to hang the ornaments on the tree (green background) tape to the back of the card stock add a ribbon and a bow and you have a super cute card. The green backgound is popped up to give depth to the stamped images. A sentiment from the same stamps, stamped in green on kraft cardstock that was punched with Modern Label punch.

Very easy card to make abut makes such an impacted. The card base is purple, then add the while background that was embossed (sorry don't know the embossing folder). Stamp the sentiment one of Close To My Hearts stamps cut around the stamped sentiment. Punch out the border and attach to the back of the white piece, apply the whole thing to the cardbase. Then stickle the embossed images outline and you have a really nice card. The reason for the season, we were all blessed one Christmas morning.

With Heartfelt Sympathy

Hi all, Today I'm the designer over at Card A Day Blog and the new theme is embossed (Wet or Dry). I've had this card for awhile waiting to post to this theme. This card came about from a Pick a number swap in The Northeast Scrapbook Friends yahoo group. I picked 6- Dry Emboss was my theme. Sympathy cards are always hard to do and so when I see a special one I try to lift it. This one came from a magazine.
Embossing in any form can make a card just a bit more of a special card, it can be just the slightest touch that can send that card to the next level. I really need to work on including it more often.
The scallop shapes and the pennants both came for the Art Philosophy cartridge to the size I wanted in my gypsy.
I started with cardstock from Staples in natural, next layer was Brown paper from Cloud 9 Design-Specialty Pack. The next layer is from CTMH Kraft cardstock run thru my cuttlebug with Honeycomb sizzix embossing folder I got from SU (makes a real nice background). The longer rectangle piece is Wallpaper style paper from SU: Well worn pack. the lace trim came from Making Memories: Chelsea's Place Trim pack.
The scallop border cut and the flower came from green distress style paper from my stash. The flower was cut from Forever Young cart at 1.75". The sentiment comes from CTMH Words of Comfort Occasions and with Chocolate ink. Added Queen & Co. Ivory Pearls to the scallops and the flower center.
Adhesives: ATG-1/8" & 1/4" Scor-tape and tomboy wet adhesive in the blue bottle.

This was a good card to do and will I hope the receiver feel great comfort from it. I love challenges and these cards in my thoughts are good for challenges cause now I'm prepared to give it to someone special. Thanks for stopping by today and seeing the view form my little corner of the world...

As summer starts winding down and so our garden winds down I'll get to my blog more often with new creations from all my craft passions. I'm taking on 2 classes so you should see what I'm crafting soon from those 2 classes, both are from the Big Pictures classes.

Baby Blue

Good Morning everyone, I'm the designer today over at Card A Day Blog, the theme this week is baby. The card I have today is in blue, but can be made in pink too.
Sorry for the bad picture the card base and the sentiment cut are both in white cardstock. The embossing folder for this card is Baby Bear folder from Darice. The sentiment was cut die cut with Spellbinders Ribbon Banners set and edges were inked with light blue ink, sentiment from unknown stamp I got at a yard sale.
At closer look of the card you can see that every few embossed dots were touched up with light blue stickles along with the heart on the foot and the nose of the bear. The embossed image was fussy cut around the dotted border and the addition of a purchased crochet flower with jewel finishes off the card.
This is really easy card to do most of the work is done with the embossing folder. Thanks for stopping by today and I wish you all a fabulous day!
Thanks for stopping by and seeing it from my little corner of the world.....

You're Invited

A bridal invitation for invitation week over at Card A Day Blog, I'm the designer today. Welcome to my blog, this is the card I made for today:

The card is made on a white cardstock base A2 style card. The background paper is for Recollections Fairy Tale collection called Fairy Dust, which made the perfect backdrop for the card with all the stamped hearts and flowers. The yellow circle was cut from George & Basic Shapes cart at 4" and the couple was cut from A Child's Year at 3.5" in white cardstock and the shadow was cut out of purple cardstock. The you're invited came from the CTMH set Little Reminder and it was stamped in some $1 bin purple ink it was stamped on white cardstock that was die-cut with Spellbinders Shapeabilities Ribbon Banners set and the edges was inked with the same purple ink and popped up. The cricut die-cuts were dry embossed with the Swiss Dots folder. This is made with the intention of a bridal shower, but could be used for an invite to a special romantic dinner, take out the sentiment and you have a great start to an Anniversary card.

That is one of the cool things about making a card, it isn't necessary to be used for what it was intended for. Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world.....
