Thank You for Funday Friday

Good Morning :) As we are getting closer to Thanksgiving we start to reflect on what we are thankful for. As I am thankful to God and my Family, I'm also thankful for enjoying such a wonderful hobby in papercrafting. I've met so many wonderful friends along the way, some in person and most on the internet. This hobby has drawn out the creative side of me one that I enjoyed as a kid and was so glad to the friends that turn me to it again. There is joy in this hobby, remembering old memories, creating new memories, sending beautiful messages in the mail and to talk to people that get you! Thank you to all my blogger friends, thank you to all my Design team owners and DT sisters, thank you to all the scrapbook challenge blogs to keep my creative artistic self challenged and to the many of the crafty groups I belong to on facebook and yahoo for you are the ones that motivate me, challenge me and encourage me.
Today's Funday Friday over at Jo's Scrap Shack and this week's theme is "Gratitude" Our sponsors are Bugaboo and Little Blue Button Stamps:
I made a clean and simple card this week, letting the digi stamp take center stage on the card, such a pretty stamp from Bugaboo: Make it Snappy - Beauty of nature
Make it Snappy - Beauty of nature
For our Scrappin N Chattin yahoo group card challenge this week we were to use a card for inspiration. That card inspired me to give this card a window frame look and this digi stamp was perfect for that with the outside scene. I did my first hand at water-coloring the card (haven't done any water-coloring since I was a kid :) it was very fun to do.
I found the sentiment cut in my swap cuts, it was done with the cricut imagine. Thank you for stopping by today :) I hope to see your creation soon linked up at Jo's Scrap Shack

Butterfly Kisses layout

Good Morning, ahhh it's Monday! Had a long night last night I hope your Monday is better than mine was. I have a layout I did for the sketchathon challenge sketch #25 and the twist was to add a large title to it:
This is my little great granddaughter Emily, 3 weeks old in these pictures. Her parents took her to the butterfly gardens I guess near their place in South Dakota. This is the sketch:

I kept to the base of the sketch pretty well. the left side has the butterfly transparency that was in my counterfeit kit, thought it worked out well for the theme. Also on another Purple/Scallops challenge #2, so the purple of her butterfly wings fit that theme very well and I brought in the purple background designer pattern paper, the purple hearts paper, purple vellum punched with a recollections punch and added the purple ribbon to cover up the tape.
I shifted the journaling strips so I could have the 2 pictures of her in the wings. I have more pictures to this outing and will do another page to it later this week. The rhinestone butterfly was from last month's kit.
The title block came from a swap a few years back, it's from the cricut imagine and the lady that did it really did a fantastic job on dressing it up. This past week I went through my swap cuts and put a few that I plan to use aside and this one was one of them.
The journaling strips I moved up to the right hand side of the layout, seemed to help with the empty space there. I used my Dymo labler for the strips  in the blue.
I tacked down the transparency at each corner with the brad/flower combo from Queen & Comp. Sassy Sequins. Overall I really like the way it turned out. So far all the sketches have been lost of fun to use. This is the last week of the sketchathon so got to get in gear and get er done!
Thanks for stopping by and checking things out :) Have a fantastic day!

Mom, I love you because...

Hi you all, and welcome to my blog. Today I'm the designer over at Card A Day Blog the theme is Mother's Day. I'm here with you today with a Mother's Day card I created:
I decided upon the card when I came across this die-cut from my stash, it's from the Better Together imagine cricut cartridge. When I seen it I thought to myself, Mom if you were here right now I would give you a big hug and tell you why I love you. (Got a little teary eye thinking about mom :)
I inked up the doily with distress ink: Broken China. I wanted some color behind the girls.
I used the stripe mat from the Echo Parks: Sweet Day cutout sheet from my current counterfeit kit. The salmon color background was in my stash of papers embossed (need to take a day and do that with some scraps, I'm getting a bit low :) This one was one of the spellbinders impressionable plates wasn't sure I liked it or not when I got it but here it gives a nice touch to the card.
I popped up both the girls and the sentiment block with 1 layer of foam tape.  I added a ribbon strip from some cutting the other night when I was creating some layouts and the sentiment block was in my stash drawer and was punched with SU:Ticket duo punch. The sentiment came from 3 Twenty Crafts: Say it from the Heart stamp set stamped in Memento tuxedo black ink. and I added Buttercup liquid pearls.
I blinged up the girls a little bit with some Scattered Straw distress stickles (not sure how I feel about this stuff yet) and Waterfall stickles on her belt.
The inside of the card:
I used a cut from some doily paper from my counterfeit kit, added another inked up doily and some of that paper ribbon for a border
I smudged the stamp message the first time so I covered it with another piece of the cardstock punched on the edges with the SU punch. Looks like it was to be done that way a great cover up :)
Close up of the image, from that same stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy the weekend. Work today and I'm going to a crop tomorrow so I'll have a few layouts next week to show you all. What's your plans for the weekend :)

Cup of Soup Get Well Card

Hi you all and welcome back, I'm the designer today over at Card A Day Blog. I hope your enjoying seeing all the Get Well Cards, cause I sure have.
My card today makes me think of drinking a good hot cup of soup when I'm felling blue:
This card was made from 2 cuts with the Cricut Imagine machine.Love this machine especially when you need a quick printed die cut and a quick card. The card base is white and I had that on hand, I used a red card stock for one layer and a blue scrap I had for another layer. The tea cup and background was cut from the Word of Mouth imagine cartridge at 3.5" and the sentiment was cut at 2.75" with the bottom cut off and then popped up for dimension and this was cut from the The Good Old Days cart. I used a gel pen to highlight the steam, the leaves and the stitching around the card. This card was super easy to make!

Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world and keep an eye out in February for some new projects, cards and layouts. I'm starting project life so I will have that to show and will be getting caught up with some of my smash pages. Have a fantastic day!
