FCCB Final post-Happy Birthday

Hi you all! I hope you all enjoyed this week, our weather has been brrr cold but today it's been quite nice and if the Groundhog doesn't see his shadow then an early spring, only time will tell for that one. Today is my final day as Guest Designer at FCCB. I was featured in their Spotlight Sunday post this past Sunday, which you can view by clicking HERE. Here's my final project this week with Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog a card I made for my Grand-daughter Isabelle
It looks like Minnie is tossing stars in the air :) This card was so fun to make. I used Mickey and Friends Cartridge  for the Minnie Mouse die cut. The cardbase was cut from some Light blue cardstock and the green polka dotted front is actually a negative cut from a doily die cut from the paper and this is what was left. Which worked out pretty cool here (keep thse negative cuts you just never know when and where you'll use them). It gave a nice back drop for Minnie to wish a Happy Birthday to Isabelle. The Happy Birthday and the stars came from an EK Success sticker pack-Birthday Party that I found in my stash. A really simple card to make when you have all the pieces on hand
A tip for you, if you are using a cartridge like Mickey and Friends and cutting out an image and you have extra time, cut out more of the images to have on hand to put together for a fast card. I have a few images cut and put in individual bags ready to put together.Isn't she just the cutest cut :) and it's not hard to dress her up a bit neither, I really like this cartridge for cards for the grandkids
The inside of the card includes the sentiment from CTMH-Card Chatter-Birthday stamp set and more of the stickers that came from the set that the stars and the sentiment on the front of the card came from.
It's been a great week with FCCB and I look forward to playing along with future challenges

Today is the last day to enter for the blog candy:

Super Excited for FCCB-Spotlight Layout

Hi you all! I'm super excited because I'm the Guest Designer this week at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. Today begins their weekly challenge to use 3 pattern papers mix and match and my project is being featured along with the Design Team's isn't that cool! I was so excited when I was asked to join in, so I want to say thank you to them for including me this week! To enter the " " Challenge, click HERE.
I made a layout for my G-Son's one year book, His First Steps...
We've been waiting days for Zach to take his first steps and then we see the top picture on facebook, there he is taking his first steps to his Grandfather-Katherine's father. It was wonderful to see this :)
With a little help of the lawnmower he's just getting around so well that week all on his own, so proud :)
Okay so back to the making of the layout, the challenge was to use 3 pattern papers (mix and match) I'm lucky enough to already had my paper picked out from my  November Counterfeit Challenge kit (yep that one is still hanging around)  so I chose the red cardstock for the background and included
the blue paper and yellow graph paper to make my die cuts for the layout. The Look Here came from Cricut Sampler cartridge cut at 2.5" and the negative of the cut was brought into the actual picture to point at the step he was making. I also used B is for Boy for the Footprints they were done with the layer option in real dial size of 1.75 for the foot and 2" for the shadow.
Now the 3rd pattern piece comes from the diagonal vellum piece of blue footprints and thought is was fitting for this layout.
The journaling block came for a cut out sheet in the Jan kit and that could also be considered a pattern piece too. This was a fun layout to do and I just love seeing the big milestones in Zach's life. Just a few more layouts and the album will be complete.
Used various stickers in this layout also and the vellum Moment in Time for a cut out sheet.
Thanks for stopping by the blog today and thank you to Fantastic Cricut Challenge Blog for choosing me to be their spotlight designer this week it is a special honor for me.
Tomorrow I'll have a Thank You card for Card A Day Blog see you then....

I'll be entering this into the Exploring Cricut challenge this week: Cricut Choice with using the color blue-2 cricut cuts-pattern paper

Oh yes their is some blog candy to talk about :)

Spotlight Sunday at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog

Wow! Awesome! and so Humble :) those are the feelings I'm going through today. I have the honor to be one of the 2 designers spotlight today over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog :) and with that honor I make this week on my blog a Cricut only week, anything posted this week will have a cricut cut on it somewhere and to make the honor sweeter I have some blog candy to give away (details at the end of the post). To checkout the post you can see it here at Spotlight Sunday
Faith chose one of my favorite cards I have made:

You can see the post here abut the card: With Heartfelt Sympathy

With being invited to be the spotlight Sunday guest your asked a few questions:
So here is a bit about me:

I started scrapbooking in 2007, through some co-workers. I was invited to a crop and the gal that invited me provided my album, protective sheets and rough idea of what I need to do. I fell in love with scrapping then and there. Now my love for cricut came a couple of years later, when I was checking out the local scrapbook store and what she was doing with scrapbooks was so cool and a lot of the stuff came from the cricut machine so I started with the baby bug for Christmas one year, then a few years later the expression and I also have the imagine. Scrapbooking is my first love, but cardmaking is where I use my cricut the most.
My favorite product to use: Oh I use stickles probably the most on cards and I like to try to incorporate velum on scrapbook pages.

My favorite Cricut Cartridge: Oh this is a tough one-it’s got to be a toss-up of Art Philosophy and Elegant Edges, they are both so versatile. But I’ve been using the Artiste quite a bit and for some quick layouts the Art Booking is a fun one too.

Don't miss the project I did for their challenge tomorrow!
