Central Park Deck 8 LO for Sketch N Scrap challenge

Good Morning and welcome. Here we are in the middle of June, we have been having some wet weather, but now it's starting to warm up well for the 1st day of Summer coming soon. We got a fun challenge layout over at Sketch N Scrap for the day. This sketch was created by Lori

This one is so cool and so easy to play with too :) This is the layout I created with the sketch:

This was my favorite deck on the ship I enjoyed walking through the park quite often, usually either getting a coffee in the afternoon or heading to the stateroom. This view is from deck 16 when I was headed to the Windjammer for breakfast I get pics of it. Used my current counterfeit kit for my layout and I pulled in some wood veneer from my stash for the my clusters.

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I created and can't wait to see what you create from this cool sketch over at Sketch N Scrap blog.

Today's Adventure LO for Sketch N Scrap challenge

Good Morning and welcome. Here we are in the middle of May, we have been having some wet weather, lots of rain. Seasonal temps though. We got a fun challenge layout over at Sketch N Scrap for the day. This sketch was created by Lori

Super fun sketch it is! This is what I created with it:

Some stenciling and I added 2 strips of paper vs the one on the sketch. This is one side of a double page layout that I'm creating about one of the highlights of a walking tour I took in Nassau, Bahamas during a cruise in February.

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I created and can't wait to see what you create from this cool sketch over at Sketch N Scrap blog.

Bon Voyage - Lasting Memories Layout Challenge

Good Morning and welcome :) It's a new week over at Lasting Memories and a new challenge. This month were having fun with June Holiday Insights and for today, June 4th is "Old Maid's Day" a day to bring awareness to those of us who have not yet found (and caught) our soul mate. We are to do a layout about a single in your life or even when you were/are single.
This is another page to my Cruise Album:
My Mom and I went on a Cruise, I was divorced and single at the time (old maid :) have not yet found my soulmate and I wouldn't find him for 7 more years yet. This was when we got off the plain and boarded the ship at San Juan. So cool that Mom had kept so much from that trip and it was good to use the memorabilia on the layout
The left side of the layout has my journaling, a picture of me and my Mom, a picture of the ship that Mom took, love that I can add her own writing from the back of the picture to the layout :) and a postcard I found of San Juan.
The Right side of the layout holds some of the memorabilia that I found: our Itinerary (a big help for the other days knowing where we were when I scrap them) Our tickets, and a newsleter that we got each day from the ship. So cool to add to the layouts
A close up of the journaling and the picture of Me and my Mom :)
This layout was created for LOAD217 was Greek Mythology Day3 prompt:
DAY 3: Prometheus
Which moment would you choose to relive again?

Who wouldn't want to relive a cruise to the Virgin Islands. My Mom and I went on a cruise twice together. This one was in 1985 (I was 23) This was my 1st cruise. A fantastic week that I still have memories of it till this day, they are fading but most are still there. My Mom and I were both coming from dark places in our lives my father passing away a couple years before and in that same year that Dad passed away I walked out of a very bad marriage. This was a time when we went from Mother/Daughter to Best Friends. So this cruise was perfect time to getaway. Any time with Mom is a good time to Relive again.

Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing you play along with us :) Some old story you would like to tell, how about a girls night out or maybe a daughter or grand daughter that you could tell about in a layout.......

First Airplane Ride

Good Day to you all :) LOAD is in full force this month and so far it's been a blast ! I've done layouts I would have never considered doing and they should be recorded :) I've already posted Day 1 so this Layout is from Day 2 aka LOAD2. The theme for that day of the week is Transportation and they started out with the prompt: Airplane. One of the ideas given was a first airplane ride, so that is what I went with :) it also had me going through Mom's old memorbilia with the trip we took in 1985 to get to our cruise ship we had to take a plane! Yep, I've never been on one and Mom took every precaution with the meds and all and I survived just fine :)
This is the 2 page spread about the ride :) My Cruise Album has finally begun :) This maybe something I'll work on next month with Calvinball :) For more information about Calvinball you can find it here I used last month's Counterfit kit Brighter Year Ahead for my layout. I also used the sketch over at Let's Scrap : Their first sketch of the month :) Looks like I just missed the link up for it. Shouldn't wait to long to get things blogged I guess :)

This was such a cool sketch to work with for this layout.
The left side of the page holds the picture of us as we were on the boat, but was able to cut some out for this layout, we went right from the airport to the boat so the clothes would have not changed :) So this is a photo you'll see twice with 2 different stories :) I was lucky Mom kept everything from the trip :) We have so much in common when it comes to that kind of thing :) Tickets and welcome letter (sized down to fit). I took advantage of the airplane artwork and used that for my title work.
The right page held my journaling, memento for the plane ride and a picture of the wallet that we received for all our airplane stuff to stay in, the flight schedule and our boarding passes.
A couple of Close up shots of the layout
This is a great way to get yourself going on a layout is with memorabilia and so glad I had so much to choose from.
The title work and all the fun pennants :)
This was a blast to put together and so far I'm staying on top of LOAD and haven't missed any yet :) Hope your having a great day on this snowy day (Here in my little corner of the world I woke up to it snowing :)
