Hi and Happy Holiday to you :) I hope your 4th was a bit better than ours, most of the day it rained but we totally enjoyed a road trip on the 3rd that was picture perfect! Today is a Lasting Memories challenge and the theme for the month is "TOGETHER" Today's challenge is a technique challenge : create a double page layout. As a family we do lots together, this layout is a recap of last summer. This is a fantastic double page layout to use up all those extra photos that weren't used on other layout:
This layout came about from LOAD May 2015 day 5: Prompt: Cue the music: “Summer lovin’, had me a blast! Summer loving, happened
too fast!” A fave end-of-summer activity is to list our best summer
experiences & memories! Make a top 10 summer memories list for your
layout today!
So this is what I created: I found the title "Suddenly Last Summer" in my song search of songs with summer in it and went to work on a list of 10 moments from the summer of 2014:
The left side of the layout housed the Title, the journaling and some favorite moments captured in photos
The right side captures some more moments of the summer and a side title too.
The journaling was done one a fun cutout from a Basic Grey journal pad
Some up close pictures of the layout
I used my May counterfeit kit for this layout. So glad you stopped by and took a look. I hope to see your 2 page layout linked up at Lasting Memories for the current 2 page layout challenge

Christmas In July for Funday Friday
Good Morning and Happy Holiday weekend to my fellow Americans. I hope that your celebrating this holiday with a bang! Today for Funday Friday over at Jo's Scrap Shack the theme is Anything Goes. Our sponsor for today's challenge is Little Blue Button Stamps:
I used their printable file: Birds and Houses:

A close up of the file I used:
I'm excited to be doing up some Christmas projects this month, a head start before December comes. I used part of last month's counterfeit kit and did some wet embossing with the cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder and some versamark ink and clear embossing powder for a fun look that really brings out the snowflakes. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you join in and play along this week with us over at Jo's

I also used the sketch at Stick It Down:
I also did the inside of the card:

The 2015 Scavenger Hunt update
The 2015 Scavenger Hunt is under way:
Hi you all! Hmmm we've been working on finding pictures for the hunt and even have a few planned out to be taken. It's nice when you can get help with your hunt, my husband has decided to keep an eye out for certain things on the list too! Kinda fun to have him playing along with me. So this week he's been working at the Columbia Montour VoTech doing maintenance work and got the picture of: 15. A flag pole with at least three flags on it
The wind was blowing just fine for the picture too :) So that is 2 pictures completed on the list. This weekend we expect to get quite a few pictures for the hunt while visiting with Tammy and the kids for Brandon's Graduation
Have a fantastic day!

June Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop
Hi and welcome to the June Counterfeit Kit Blog Hop. You should have arrived here from Lisa's blog I'm excite to see what marvelous creation she has made :) This month's challenges are:
I chose to do the One side or the other challenge, what helped with this decision was a sketch that I saw from Let's Get Sketchy week 4 sketch that was perfect for this challenge:
A close up of the flower pictures. The papers used came from this month's kit and the die cuts and rub-on came from a previous month's kit.
The title section was fun to put together with the die-cuts and washi tape. That is the last of the 2014 flower pictures that needed scraped and this particular paper helped with the theme of the layout. I was glad to use the stripe paper in this fun way. This particular challenge is a great way to use up those papers that you don't want to cover up. Thanks for stopping by, now it's time to go check out what challenge Leslie has decided to do you can go here to find out, enjoy the hop and if you get lost you can see the full line up here at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog site.
Challenge #1: Patterned die cutsChallenge #3: One side or the other

At The Hop Lasting Memories Challenge
Good Morning and welcome to my blog :) Today is a new challenge over at Lasting Memories and the challenge is The Little Things.
We love to do little things for the grandkids and this seems to be a favorite of theirs, to come over for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. This was from the 1st one we did the weather was so nice that year that we included a couple of games for them to play after the hunt.
The inspirational photo from Lasting Memories to help with the challenge this week:

Grandkids occupy the biggest part of our hearts so thought it was fitting to do a layout on them and I was glad to get this one scrapped and in the books from that day :)
A close up of the left hand side, I cut up the directions on how to do the bunny hop game for the journaling, punched out a bunch of circles and layered up. I'm pretty sure this was a sketch last month that I never got the chance to blog last month during LOAD. This layout came about from the LOAD prompt on May 8: Genre and Style: Hip Hop: Cue the music: “I said a hip hop the hippie the hippie, To the hip hip hop, a you don’t stop” LOTS of options for you today! What do you think of? Hip Hop? Rapper’s DELIGHT? A bunny hopping? Hippies? The end of disco? GO! So this is what I had to work with and went right to the Bunny Hopping!
The right hand side holds a few more pictures and I enjyed framing up that one as Elias and Zachary were having a blast with this game
My personal jouraling
A cute cricut cut I got in a swap was perfect for the layout
A close up of the directions :) Zachary was having so much fun hopping Dad was having fun just trying to keep him in the one spot till it was his turn :) I used last month's counterfeit kit for this layout and lots of left over scraps from the month before for the circles. I used an old song title for my title to keep in with the LOAD theme of the month :)
Thank you for stopping by today and seeing what I'm up too. I look forward to seeing what you create for this challenge and this is the last one for the month so the challenge ends this coming Friday night.

May's Read of 26 books for 2015
This is what I read in May and finished it up in June
The list comes from Bringing Up Burns blog and feel it's a great list to dive into reading again.

1 - A book you own but haven't read
3 - a book you pick solely because of the cover
4 - a book your friend loves
5 - a book published this year
7 - a book by an author you love
8 - a book at the bottom of your "to be read" pile
9 - a book with a color in the title
10 - a book set somewhere you've always wanted to visit
11 - a book you started but never finished
12 - a book with a lion, a witch, or a wardrobe
14 - a book set in the summer
15 - a book of poems
16 - a book you learned about because of this challenge
17 - a book that will make you smarter
19 - a book you were supposed to read in school. But didn't.
21 - a book with a great first line
22 - a book with pictures
24 - a book you loved... read it again!
25 - a book that is more than 10 years old
26 - a book based on a true story
Well I got sidetracked and ended up reading by Stephenie Meyer: Midnight Sun: Edward's Version of Twilight. I can't remember how I ended up on her site and finding it, I think I did a google search and came across the cover:
and did some investigating into it. Found that only part of it is on her website as a download so that is what I did and read it. It was fun to read an online style book, different too not to hold a book but it was nice (this just might get me closer to getting a kindle or something like that). The work retells the events of Twilight, but is written from the perspective of Edward Cullen and it was a good read to see it from another respective. While I located this book I also found a fanfiction novel that is the 2nd part of this book where Stephenie leaves off and she picks it up:
The first book, which I call Midnight Sun, Part II, consists of the missing second half of Ms. Meyer’s Chapter 12, “Complications,” twelve additional chapters, and the “Epilogue.”her blog is called Twilight: The Missing Pieces
So now she has done all the books from Edward's perspective and it's been interesting to read it, I'm now in her version of New Moon. She definitely has a different writing style than Stephenie's and you can pick up on it quickly. So I'll be putting down Under the Dome for now and reading this series of books from her website. I guess I'm in a Twilight year this year :) So I'm using this for #18 - a book with a blue cover. I figure it's close enough to a blue cover.
