Hi you all and Happy Easter Weekend to you. We got some cute photos of this year's annual Easter Egg Hunt but that will be told another day in another layout. The layout I have today is a 2-page layout of a Road trip my husband wanted to take after seeing the article in the paper:
I started this layout the beginning of the month at the church's craft day. The left side of the layout came together pretty easy:
I had grabbed a border set of punches that I got at a yard sale and this was the first I used them. I really could see why they were in the sale and I will most likely putting them in a sale at our house too. But I did try them out and what I found out that it doesn't pinch the edge but punched a pattern on the paper with a 1/4" edge to it. Well that wasn't what I was looking for but we are the creative bunch and I decided to cut it down the middle of that punched part and I was surprised to create this border that actually looks like a sawtooth edge-a win for my layout :) So this side has a few pictures of the grounds and the museum. I added some of the trinkets that we got there-freebies in a bag.
The right side didn't come together so easy for some reason. I pulled it out again last night and I think went together relatively easy, the first time I was using a layout from a magazine and last night I was winging it and that may be the difference for me getting it put together. This side holds the newspaper clipping that my husband took out of the paper, our tickets and a few more pictures of the museum. I also included a couple of journaling cards from the PL-Vintage Transportation core kit. Thank goodness I wrote something about this day prepared for the layout with the goodies from the trip. Some close up shots:
The goodies we got
The border and the letters that were the negative of a car cut that I did on my cameo, you'll see that in a future layout. Doesn't that edge look like the teeth on a saw blade, God was with me that day to help me through this idea :)
The pictures of the museum and one of their model of the sawmill and up close shot of the mill. Yep wish they would of had more information on the people that lived there at one time, I have one G-G-grandpa that may have been a lumberman.
The newspaper clipping and the tickets
The journaling block
And this block was cut down just for the city of arrival and a bit more journaling that I didn't fit on the above block and it also brings over some of the red from the left side layout to give a full triangle design element. I have a few more pictures from this day that will form at least 2 more 2-page layouts and a single one too. This was done with my April Counterfeit Kit.
Speaking of the Counterfeit Kit Challenge, they have plans for National Scrapbooking day-May3 but will be extending it that whole weekend, but right now they only posted about no details yet, so I'm looking forward to doing that. Do you have any plans for National Scrapbooking day?
Have a blessed Easter...
Happy Easter, love your layout and how you've managed to include so many photos on the double page, I love that with double pages. I haven't any plans for national scrapbook day, must work out whether I'm at work or not.
ReplyDeleteGreat DLO with loads to enjoy! Shame about the punch though, but glad you made the best of it.
ReplyDeleteWas really fun listening in on your process for this page. I am so intrigued with what happens at a Bark Peeler's Convention! Great use of all the bits & bobs collected there.
ReplyDeleteGreat two-pager Tina, love how many photos you managed to get onto the layout!
