CKC October Counterfeit Kit

Hi you all and thank goodness it's Friday. Each week I look more forward to Fridays because the weekends I usually get to scrap a bit :) It's the beginning of October and that means I had a fun couple of days gathering my Counterfeit Kit for this month. This month one of the Master Forgers Margie is giving out a prize to see it and the details to enter the information is found here
This is the kit that is to inspire us this month, it's from the winner of Queen for the month Laura and she found a sweet kit from Hey Little Magpie:

This is what I created for the month Fall Festival
Some of the papers for the kit, these all came from various Die Cut with a View paper pads. I seen the pinks and blues of the kits with the variety of florals, plaids and polka dots. I also brought in more fall colors to work with reds, oranges, gold and some neutral creams too. I belong to a variety of challenge groups so I wanted to make sure I had a good selection for the month for any challenges coming out to pertain to Fall/Halloween. With that in mind I also included some specific Fall papers and a special teapot paper for a layout I will be doing this month too:
Simple Stories Harvest collection is bits and pieces, borders and half sheets to use for cut ups and layering mainly.
The rest of the kit:
Found some vellum, paper tapes, labels, doilies and lots of florals in a variety of colors. I have some paper bows around too but haven't located them yet.
Close up of the pages of floral diecuts I found in my stash
Close up of the floral rubons
The bits: border strips, words in fall colors, plus an array of stickles to use this month.
The pieces: fabric ribbon, washi tape and new purchases for SU embossing powder, sequins and hodgepodge clips (excited to add these this month to my scrapping)
The alphas that I pulled is some very old chipboard alphas I got with my very first scrapbook Christmas gift in 2007 and some pinks, orange, gold, fushia alphas with a basic grey small capture pack of alphas for anything else needed. Excited to start using the kit but:
This past week there was a mishap in my craftroom my main shelving cupboard above my craft desk came out from the wall and dropped about 4" and luckily the craft cart there is holding up the one end. See the monitor that did sit under the cabinet, when I moved that to use it that is when I heard everything start to creek and knew what was happening. I had clean out the cabinet so by chance it wouldn't fall anymore than what it has. So Saturday we will be working on getting that put back into place and braced up better to hold the weight.
So this is where all the stuff ended up scattered about the floor and that stack of paper on my chair that is where most of my paper came from for my kit, I got scolded for having that much weight in the cupboard. But we worked it out and that is why we are bracing the cabinet so it can hold that weight. Hopefully we can work out the bracing to be functional too.
I wish you all a great weekend......

  1. Looks like a great kit you put together Tina! Yikes!!! I'm so glad that your shelf didn't fall all the way over onto your monitor! Thank God for small favors! I see you will have your hands full come tomorrow. I hope you and hubby get it back up securely and all will be well again. Scrap on Tina! Hugs, Brenda

  5. Wow, that could have been so much worse. I hope you get it all put back together even better than before. Your kit is fab, you've got those soft colors and lots of fall elements to boot. Here's wishing you only the good kind of "fall" from here on out.

  6. Mayhem! I hope the cabinet is back up and braced. Maybe you'll have to scrap twice as hard this month to ease the load on the shelves :)
Looking forward to seeing what is in store for the tea pot paper
