I chose to use Owen as my image for my card as I thought I would get a head start on Graduation cards. This is one of the few times I actually colored my image (hopefully I'll improve as I go.) ( I learned that there is cardstock better suited for digi printing :) I watched a few tutorials on coloring after I did this, so figuring I should improve, ha I guess you can teach an old one new things :) The card's background and frame came from my Counterfeit Kit and worked out great for the card. I also used Stampin Up Whispering White for the printed image and used a variety of markers to color Owen. I used teeny tiny wishes from SU for the sentiment and I did that on a Spellbinder Ribbon Banners die cut that was inked with SU Brocade Blue and popped up. Added blue ribbon from my stash and framed the image with washi tape from my collection.

Wonderful card Tina! I love this digi image and yes it is a great idea to get a head start on grad cards, I will be needing them myself! lol I just may have to use this cute image. You have shading going on in your card and are off to a great start. I find tutorials really helpful and need improvement myself! Mary is a great Copic color-er and I am hoping to be as good as she is one day when I grow up. lol And yes you can teach an old dog new tricks, I have learned a lot about coloring. Love the dimension of your card and love the washi tape! Your inside is a pretty as your outside. Hugs!

Hey Tina, good for you in getting a jump start on the graduation cards. What a perfect image for that celebration. Your coloring looked great to me and I have problems with printing on certain papers too. You just have to keep experimenting with the diff papers and settings on your printer, I expect. So happy to be on the DT with you, can't wait to see your future projects. I think this one turned out super great, and TFS. Have a great wkend, Hugs
ReplyDeleteVery cute, glad to be designing with you!
ReplyDeleteTina you did a great job coloring in Owen! He's adorable and such a great time to be planning ahead for graduation. Good for you! I love the soft blues you went with for this card and love that dotted paper!

So glad to have you aboard on the DT!
Cute card, Tina. Owen is adorable. I admire anyone who takes the time to color in stamped images. I simply don't have the patience (and I was never very good at staying inside the lines). You've done a fabulous job shading him too to give him dimension!
ReplyDeleteAdorable. Enough said.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great graduation card. Great to have you aboard on the DT at Jo's
