Today's challenge over at Use Your Stuff, comes to us from Stephanie, and she is challenging us to use feathers on our project.
This layout also comes from Scrap Happy's today's prompt for LOAD517 Day 8:
Prompt:
Citizen Kane – 1941
Today, in the style of yellow journalism, you will SENSATIONALIZE your story and create an eye-catching headline for your layout. It should be dramatic and draw you in to “read more”. Feel free to use a sketch for your layout today too, as Citizen Kane sketches a portrait of one man’s life.
Now this was interesting prompt. I was surprised how fast I got this prompt put together. After having a google search on some of the phrases used in the prompt description especially yellow journalism (interesting to find out that is what caused the Spanish-American War, will have to include that with one of my Great Grandpa's scrapbook layouts.) I hit the images and all the pictures that came up had all these headlines from the tabloids so I went a little bit that way. Going through my bird photos I found this one and knew it was perfect for this layout. Had fun cutting a few words from this paper I thought I'm never gonna be able to use. Thanks you all for always thinking outside the box when it comes to prompts.
I used the sketch over at the Memory Nest from last month for my layout seemed the prefect sketch for the story I wanted to create for the layout.
Created a fun title:
I use a couple of feathers from Simple Stories: So Fancy, used a bird from CTMH: Chantilly collection.
and my journaling:
So glad that I created this layout and made sure while I was creating it that I used items for the challenge today over at Use Your Stuff. A bit behind on this DT project but got it done. I used some of my newest counterfeit kit: Nature's Party (will come in a later post today)
Perhaps you have a cute bird embellishment or an adorable sheet of paper with feathers. Maybe you have a cute digital stamp of a feathery friend you have been dying to use. Let your creativity "fly!" We can't wait to see what you create!
Awesome Tina and thanks for joining us at The Memory Nest. Such an awesome picture to scrap.
